Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Not sure if there is already a thread made as the search function doesn't seem to show anything related to what I'm typing so I'd like to start a thread that people can post the PC specs, in game settings and the fps that they are getting so we can maybe help each other out. If you need a program to show you're fps here is a link for one. It's a video recording program but you don't have to use it for that. http://www.bandicam.com/ . The full program does cost money as it will leave a watermark on the free version. If anyone else has other programs please feel free to post the links as well. My specs are as followed: P8Z77-V LE Plus MOBO / i7-3770k @ 4.4 ghz / 16gb G-Skill 1600Mhz / Gigabyte R9 270X 2gb(My sig shows CPU at 4.6, I just recently clocked it down) 1Tb 7200rpm HDD In game settingsVideo: Rendering Resolution @ 1920x1080 / VSync Enabled / ResolutionUser Interface: Resolution @ 1920x1080Textures: Video Memory - Auto / Texture Detail - Very High / Texture Filtering - Very HighQuality: Objects - Very High / Terrain - Very High / Clouds - High / Shadows - HighRendering: AA - Normal / Alpha to Coverage - All Trees + Grass / Edge Smoothing - SMAA Normal / HDR Quality - Low / Ambient Occlusion - Enabled / PP - Normal I get around 45-50 fps out in the open and drop down to around 30 fps in the larger cities. Mods, delete this thread if this has already been discussed to death or there is already a topic on it. Thanks. The RV engine is very CPU heavy. Unfortunately you're not going to see much more increase even with optimization. And both you and I are pretty much on par to what the FPS should be in the ALPHA until they do some optimization.
omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Intel i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz, NVIDIA 760 GTX with 2GB Video memory, 8GB RAM, Motherboard is MSi Z87-GD65 (7845-001R), 1TB HDD, Windows 8 with 1080p monitor 50+ FPS not in cities, 20-25 FPS in cities. Everything, including Video memory being on "Auto", is maxed out except: Vsync = Disabled (for higher framerate)Edge Smoothing = FXAA High (for a more crisp picture) Yes, I can potentially max out everything, but Vsync unnecessarily lowers my frame rate, and anything higher than FXAA makes the screen blurry which I don't like. Yes, Vsync prevents screen tearing, but I have a high framerate, so I don't notice it. On top of that, screen tearing never bothered me anyway. Others have stated that increasing CPU speed does nothing but I'll leave that at your discretion to overclock. Also, try setting your video memory to auto. Grimey Rick 3417 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Specs: FAPS: Wait, you said FPS, not FAPS... Oops! But seriously, all my settings are on very high using the computer in my signature. In cities I range from as low as 25 in combat to as high as 60 at times. Out in the open I have achieved as high as ~180 frames per second. It's generally around 70-120, though. EDIT: Because edit. In major cities 20-30 fps, anywhere else 60-70fps with a -$400 PC. Im happy :D Edited March 1, 2014 by lrish
