360Nation 60 Posted March 1, 2014 "We are inducting a large number of new people to the team, effectively doubling the whole project." This is great, but what do they mean by doubling the whole project? Does it mean it will be faster or a lot more stuff then they were going to add?
ramstormrage 15 Posted March 1, 2014 More people working on the project could mean they would have more manpower to work on the bugs and more hands to work on new content. Hopefully, we see regular weekly updates pushed to experimental with tons of fixes and updates. Great updates have been pushed to stable for a few weeks now. DayZ is gooing to be more exciting in the upcoming months.

monolith1985 109 Posted March 1, 2014 more people to work on more features and more bugs fixes. Also i think new staff that might have better or different skills to work on certain things. Such as the new team working on hunting, think i heard rocket say some are people who have worked on hunting games before? I could be wrong

360Nation 60 Posted March 1, 2014 I really wish they would fix the ladder killing bug and loot not spawning in some buildings, and of course zombies not walking through walls, but their getting there.
Window Licker 504 Posted March 1, 2014 "We are inducting a large number of new people to the team, effectively doubling the whole project." This is great, but what do they mean by doubling the whole project? Does it mean it will be faster or a lot more stuff then they were going to add? do you have sauce for that? Yes the large increase will mean they will be able to work on multiple elements of the game EFFECTIVELY, for example the people plodding away at Zombie skins and AI, while another group is working on the animals and hunting system, another group developing the physics portion and so on, meaning the updates while likely still coming out at the same pace will include much more content. Where are all those people bitching "Dean ur rich y u no finish game yet" at? Long and short the bigwigs at BI have decided to accelerate production and gave Dean permission to hire more people. Alogos 24 Posted March 1, 2014 No. NO!Absolutely NO!NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!..are you stupid? if you come back with something like "more people ruins the integrity of the game" I might fly to wherever you are and slap you. there is absolutely no downside to this. Awruk 216 Posted March 1, 2014 Think about it like this: How long would it take 1 person to move a 50 pound wardrobe? Now imagine you have a friend to help you.
antonioajc 500 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Hopefully people will drop the idea that DayZ without Dean means failure. Seriously, the team is extensive, and with the news of Dean leaving at the end of 2014, people have been going on with the rage boner. Mack674 76 Posted March 1, 2014 As soon as they add more zombies and persistant storage, I will play again.
antonioajc 500 Posted March 1, 2014 As soon as they add more zombies and persistant storage, I will play again. They're working on both. The first step of more zombies is in, which is the spawning mechanism (Although it needs tweaking, some are spawning on rooftops).

I'd recruit a lion and a witch. Come on folks. They're spending the money you gave them. Don't worry be happy.
Weyland Yutani (DayZ) 1159 Posted March 1, 2014 An example would be the team they just brought in that is working on animals. They have an extensive background with hunting games and etc.
NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted March 1, 2014 Well sir, tbh, its kinda self explanitory lol. Think twice the progress in weekly updates. Shits gettin' good now.
rickyriot 1009 Posted March 1, 2014 I hope everyone realises that increasing staff doesn't result in the same level of incremental development increase. For example a 2 person team releasing updates every 10 days does not mean a 20 person team would release an update every day. In many cases, and certainly most if not all of the projects I have worked on, adding new staff initially slows down development. I know this is stating the blindingly obvious, but just in case there are a few at the back that might have missed class I thought it's worth pointing out. The other thing that it will help on is doing more for the updates, as in adding more content per update.(hopefully)
