Demoth 366 Posted February 28, 2014 I started playing Rust (very fun!) to break up my gaming time. I've turned into a KOS sniping machine with a character now with 23 souls under his belt after surviving around 50 hours in-game; it's not bragging, as my victims never had a chance to fight back, but moreso me realizing "man, I need to find something else to do with my gaming time", so I decided to get Rust. Also, I want to come back to the fresh stuff DayZ is churning out.Now I've also been on break from DayZ for about a week because a couple of instances of teleport hackers and blatant ESP hacking really brought out the salt from my eyes. So I joined Rust a few days ago.Hoooooly shit. Aimbots, people flying through the air like superman and speed hacks where people can destroy your base in 10 seconds flat with just a hatchet?Made me realize how good we have it on DayZ. Then again, Rust creator Garry DID make several acknowledgments about the hacker problems, VAC banning is in full force with hacker QQ on the forums, and active admins can pinpoint and ban hackers.Still, I've never played a game where blatant hacking was so rampant. LaughingJack (DayZ) 767 Posted March 3, 2014 Counterstrike. Every version ever made, but especially 1.6. Until VAC was upgraded to a better version it just didn't really work. And I don't talk about the Interps, I mean real hacks... Funny thing: The game where I saw the least amount of cheater was...LoL. Sure there were cheats, but I always had the feeling, that Riot is an evil banning machine that works pretty fast... And if you want to advertise hacks, just go to youtube...you'll wonder for how many games there are cheats sold...
OrLoK 16185 Posted March 3, 2014 Hello there "Hacking" in DAYZ is not a major problem numberwise, its just the effect on one cheaters is massively multiplied in a game like DAYZ. In BF3 for example one dies and re-spawns ready and equipped to fight, so being dicked around by some looser doesn't have such a large effect. But when being twatted about by some idiotic gibbon using hacks in DAYZ the effect is magnified as you can lose hours of hard work. Id say the actual amount of h4xx0rs isnt that high. BE and VaC do a good job, no matter what detractors say. Rgds LoK

Have you been copying me!?!Still, I've run into cheaters in DayZ, but Rust took it to a whole new level of WTF.
mosibfu 71 Posted March 3, 2014 Yesteray me and my squad were on a rampage near elektro (we shot some geared guys that were at sniper hill, they flanked us and died, respawned, came back and died.. etc..) 12 kills in, some dude with a green backpack ported under the house we were holding up in, and killed me, knocked out the sniper, and my buddy tried to get away, the guy teleported in front of him to kill him. The thing is, its the 3rd time i see a hacker on DayZ, and all 3 times were on german servers. Dont join german servers, hacker problem solved... i hope. Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 3, 2014 People think hacks seem high in DayZ only because the minute someone is killed they come raging on the forums claiming hacks.
rickyriot 1009 Posted March 3, 2014 Online cheating is like piracy (as in the game/movie kind, not the hairy bearded y'aarr kind). It's always been with us and it will remain with us. I've been playing online games for nigh on 15 years now and there have always been "hackers".
TheMeow 3 Posted March 3, 2014 Online cheating is like piracy (as in the game/movie kind, not the hairy bearded y'aarr kind). It's always been with us and it will remain with us. I've been playing online games for nigh on 15 years now and there have always been "hackers". Indeed, but I'm afraid that as soon as the game gets more content hackers will flood the servers. Circumventing VAC and BE is not that difficult, the only thing that deters people from cheating is that it's basically just a 'boring' deathmatch right now, and shooting some people through walls and teleporting gets old fast for them. Leo Balzac 190 Posted March 3, 2014 hackers have small RL peens, so they hack to grow big epeens.

Then again, Rust creator Garry DID make several acknowledgments about the hacker problems, VAC banning is in full force with hacker QQ on the forums, and active admins can pinpoint and ban hackers.Still, I've never played a game where blatant hacking was so rampant. I did some research on hacking a while back after reading a post about dayz.. and what I found was pretty telling. Mind you this was not the typical google search for 10 mins.. I spent a total of 3 days looking up info, writing stuff down, chasing down those leads. I got a little caught up in it to say the least, but man I was really bored at the time.. what I found was when you see a rampant use of hacks in a game its almost always because someone has released a free script injector along with the proper hacks. Usually people have to pay for these things, and in the end you can still get global banned so most kids never are able to get the hack tools they need due to lack of funds. But when its released free to the public, then friends start telling friends and eventually even honest players start to cheat in a fit of rage. This usually results in a massive player ban once the hack is detected. In Dayz SA, there was a publically released hack that lasted up until around mid january. Thats why it was so rampant initially. But Battle Eye detected it eventually and now stupid people who dont research enough are STILL downloading it and trying to use it which results in a ban within minutes. Global BE ban. Which affects all of your BE games on Origins and Steam, etc.. Anyhow, thats what I found. If you see an insane amount of hacking. Walk out slowly, and watch the forums for a fix. :)
