Do you play Experimental version or Regular, and why?

Recommended Posts

Experimental, Mostly because I like messing about with the new stuff, nothing like carrying a bag full of rocks, wood and matches to find that fire still isn't in the game or placing the gas cooker, with a pot and trying to put stuff in to see if any of that works... which it doesn't.  I also feel experimental has less guns and less douchebags (coincidence?) Plus it's nice to see everything as it come's through except for that magnum reload sound bug.

Also I can play for a while and when I have down time cruise thru the bug tracker and see what other people have reported and write any that are missing.

I get warm fuzzies for contributing to development.

Experimental, because I am a better person than those who don't.  ^_^

I also play hardcore experimental, which makes me twice as bettererer than others.   B)

I would go experimental. IF all the UK servers where at 12:00... at 02:00PM real life times the servers are 16:00. At 06:00PM real life times the servers are 16:00. At 03:00AM real life times the servers are 16:00... there always 16:00... it's usually dark to soon.

Without that i usually go experimental

Nope.  You'll just have to udpate your game files each opt-in/opt-out (380mb).

Regular. I played experimental to get on the 100 slot server briefly. My internet is not conducive to downloading stable then experimental on a whim. If they were 2 different installs I would play both whenever. And, experimental doesn't have enough room. Not enough servers usually full.

Regular when I actually play.

The game has gotten a bit dull so its more fun for me to let it go for a long stretch of time then spend some time discovering everything that is new.

Experimental : more players, less douchebags more RPers, less ultra geared players and also finding what is new

Experimental right now. I like playing with new toys, and for the most part, it feels more stable than stable right now.

I tried experimental earlier today and did not really enjoy the experience.. lots of great additions, but there were little things I just did not care for like extra bugs, etc.. completely looted servers = starving to death repeatedly, etc..

But that new lighting.. oh its nice!

Experimental for muck assing around and generally better player interaction plus new stuff to break.

Hardcore for serious.

Regular for not giving a fuck about my char or anyone elses.

Up to this point, I've been playing regular simply because that's the game's default and I didn't fancy faffing about on the experimental branch until I knew what I was doing (no, I'm not sure of my logic there either, but meh). As of right now though, I'm downloading experimental because I want to try the new stuff (I'm impatient and can't wait for it to come to stable) plus the lure of better FPS is strong (mine's fucking abysmal). Plus the drastic increase in servers of late means it'll be far more likely I'll be able to get on one.

Quite why experimental needs to download the whole game again I don't know.  <_<

i like to play stable for the most part so that when experimental actually comes out, It's new and fresh to me.

Mostly play Experimental because of the pace that the new updates are rolling in. I cant be bothered to switch from stable to experimental every time. Plus, new stuff to try. In my experience, experimental players are less likely to KoS than in stable.

I feel silly asking this, but I see experimental servers on stable, but I've been hesitant in joining those. Will I be able to join those or do I need to do that opt in/out thing?

It would seem that you will have to choose to go exp or stable. You cant play on a stable branch server in experimental vice versa.

No worries though as the database is separate. You wont lose your characters in stable should you choose to go back. Nifty right?
