Character has been deleted 3 times now

Over the course of playing today when changing server (not every time) my character has been a new spawn three times.

 

My friend stood there and watched my ghost so I know no one killed me.

 

This happening to anyone else?

 

Edit: Should mention was getting terrible ping/lag and some time outs.

 

Edit: Jumped on again today after a server reset delete last night and started looting on an empty server (Empty Server) then for no reason at all "You Are Dead"

Maybe try nott swapping servers so often might help you not getting deleted??

I've just had my first character delete in about a month, And it was due to a server crashing, You sure you're not logging out and getting eaten or shot?

yes, also 3 times so far. This just forces me to gear up a little bit and than move to a city for some action because i dont wanna "die" by charakter reset. It makes no sense to survive because of this issue. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Yep like having to stay at least half a day on the server or else your stats won't be saved :P Would be no problem for people having to switch servers because it's not running good ( bad ping/fps ) because they won't stay to farm anyway and would favor regulars.

3. Stop acting like it's an issue that's unique to you and no-one else, because it's not.

 

4. Start reporting the other bugs you come across, no matter how small, in a constructive manner. Because while you think you're helping by pointing out something every other new forumite points out in their first few posts after the SA was released, don't, because it's not.

Edit: OP this isn't a personal attack against you, it's for everybody out there that still feels the need to flood the forums with the one issue that's stated as being a possibility in the disclaimer everytime the game is loaded up.

I have been playing since the Alpha was released and this never happened before.

 

Just got deleted again after a server reset, how am I supposed to avoid that one?

 

Funny how some people are so high and mighty just cause they are not experiencing the same issue.

 

This is a valid issue and I'm not whining, I'm checking to see if its just me or other people are experiencing it too.

 

So next time you want to express your invalid opinion on something you obviously know nothing about, don't.

Hey OP, I've had this similar problem and so has my friend, we would constantly find gear just to log off for about an hour and come back on to see our characters deleted happened about 4+ times(tested). There is an easy fix to this solution and it seems to have a permanent effect, so here's what you do.

 

MAKE SURE YOU EXIT OUT OF DAYZ BEFORE COMPLETING THESE STEPS!

 

 

>Locate a folder on your computer called "Documents" it's usually located on "My Computer"

 

 

 

 

>Once you've located the folder labeled documents go to "DayZ" and there should be two names there one labeled your steam name or any previous names you used to have an example would be mine Zachary.vars" another file named "Zachary" and another one named "DayZ.cfg"

 

 

 

 

 

>Delete all these files or any other ones that you may have had in there, basically the only file your going to have in there is a folder named "Saved", don't delete that, delete everything else except that.

>Once you are done, your all set, go ahead and start up DayZ again, your going to have to set up your DayZ settings again, video, graphics, rendering, etc and you have to set your character up again and make sure to press set default.

>Play DayZ and your done! :D

 

 

NOTE: IF YOUR CHARACTER IS SAVED FROM WHENEVER YOU LOGGED OFF PREVIOUSLY KILL YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY, DO NOT LOG OFF THIS WILL LOOP THE SAME PROCESS AGAIN AND YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THE STEPS ABOVE TO STOP YOUR CHARACTER FROM RESETTING. ONCE YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMMITTED SUICIDE CLICK "RE SPAWN" AND THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM.
