Mosin Vs B95

Recommended Posts

Is there any reason you should pick the Blaze 95 over the mosin? I mean the blaze can't take scopes, only 2 shots.

It seems the mosin is better in every way, or am I wrong?

I never take it over the Mosin. I take it if I find it before my Mosin :P

From what i've experienced, the Mosin does more damage. Could have just been a fluke, but I'll stick with the Mosin

The B95 hits like a freight train, and is good for people more confident in their aiming abilities, lets you make a rapid follow up shot.

I like to run with it sometimes just to mix it up, but the mosin is clearly the better weapon

Mosin ALWAYS on my back, however I just love the look of the B95. I always carry it around in my hands till I get bored of jogging town to town, however I'm sure soon enough there will be a wide variety of attachments for the B95 and the SKS, just a matter of waiting.

True about the follow up shot but by the time you compensate for the recoil of the first shot, you may as well have used a mosin.

I dont know why, but i always find that the B95 is more accurate and the bullet time is faster, I can hit someone from 200 meters running with iron sights no problem, but the Mosin i feel is a bit different.
Dunno maybe just preference

Right now, the B95 has a super-low bullet-drop. It's unbelievably accurate. Another pro: If you have 3,4,5,6,7 or more snaploaders in your backpack, you can reload your B95 at any time - without putting new rounds manually in the chamber (Mosin-style, b/c of no clips). That means, you're way more flexible in a shooting.

But I personally prefer the Mosin, too. Because of the LRS and also it's sprayable (it looks awesome in black).

The B95 is a hunting rifle, that is missing a scope. Until one is implemented I would prefer the Mosin for long range.

It is not meant to be a close range weapon, there are better weapons already ingame.

Idk, in my experience, close to mid range the follow up shot is quite rapidly put back on target

not to mention it has the sexy dual shot for those pesky helmet armor kids :P

The B95 is a good weapon for close-medium range, especially if you have a speedloader or two. Unfortunately at this range it's in direct competition with the SKS, which IMO is the better, more flexible weapon due to higher ammo load and scope.

Did I mention the B95 is also incredibly quiet?

B95 has the rule of cool, but other than that, it is just an early weapon that you use before getting the Mosin or SKS.

Just met a server hopper with a Mosin in a barracks. I had the B95, and I fired two shots before he even had time to aim. The rapid two-shot capability makes the B95 better at close range.

That said, I did take his Mosin and left my B95 on his corpse :).

Blaze 95 is my favourite, but I hang around NWAF so I use the Mosin for long range shooting.

Depends on your play style.

The mosin is more of a camper/Bandit weapon for easy mode kills.  The LRS on a Mosin is only good for one thing, sniping players from a distance.

The B95 is more of a survivor weapon.

Lol.

Mosin recoil is awful now.

Not to mention that the mosin at short range is absolutely awful.

PU scope only zeroes to 300 meters...

Kind of a jaded opinion.

Mosin is great for making sure an area is clear before you just run in. I never kill nor am I a bandit.... Nor is it easy mode, less FOV with a scope.... anyways...

Just speaking of the masses that use it.

There are always exceptions to the rule.

i simply won't pick up a mosin or any sniper rifle anymore because I believe they have a negative effect on DayZ game play.

That is the stupid part.

The mosin nagant cannot take a rail mounted scope like the long range scope without heavy gunsmithing.

Meanwhile the b95 can easily take that scope with simply a pair of rings.

Yet in game the mosin takes the lrs and the b95 the accurate hunting rifle does not.

Another thing that needs fixing is the excessive accuracy of the mosin. The mosin nagant while good for the price of 100 dollars is a hunk of crap in the accuracy department 4 moa at best with russian made hex receivers like the one in game using surplus ammo.

Even worse if the gun has any kind of barrel damage or a damaged crown.

You wont consistently be getting any 600m shots with a mosin in real life atleast not now, when the rifle was brand new and out of the shop then perhaps but not now after years of abuse and damage.

Is there actual data on whether the Mosin or Blaser does more damage or if they're equal?

On that note, I've noticed that guns seem to be incredibly inconsistent. I was fully geared with fully pristine tactical gear and had no free slots as everything was filled with protector cases, ammo cases, food, mags and a handgun. I get shot in the arm (broken arm and ruined tactical shirt, everything else pristine) and I get rendered unconscious immediately. I came to after 2 minutes, wasn't bleeding and then ran away to fight another day.

Then someone is shooting at my friend in Balota. I find him, and from 30 meters I shot the guy in the chest with the Mosin. He then starts shooting at me, so I shot him again in the chest. I clearly hit him because he was bleeding from two spots, but he didn't drop.

Another time I shot a guy with no headgear with the Mosin, and he fell. I ran over to him, and he started to get back up. I shot him AGAIN in the head, and he only went unconscious a second time, with two gushing bleeding headwounds. I had to put a 3rd Mosin round in his head. While I was messing with looting him, I hear a Mosin shot and I just get "You Are Dead". I had all pristine gear except for a worn tac-vest, and a pristine ballstic helm. What's going on?

you can make your shirt like a press vest with helmets/ protector case / books in . It 'll make it ruined but 'll stop one bullet. A guy with a shirt like this + assault vest filled too can survive to two mosins shot LOL
