Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted February 10, 2014 I meant the loot system now.Again how is it broken when the respawning of gear and items isn't even implemented yet? You can't break something that doesn't exist
excitable1 156 Posted February 10, 2014 things don't magically re appear, so why should they here? like a pay cheque go work for it.

Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted February 10, 2014 things don't magically re appear, so why should they here? like a pay cheque go work for it.If it only worked like that. New players to a server would be screwed if none of the items and gear respawned. And yes, you could say go kill someone for it but only people with really bad aim get taken out by someone with their fists
HunterJay 81 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) things don't magically re appear, so why should they here? like a pay cheque go work for it. You call me a moron yet fail to realize server reset makes loot "magically appear". Again how is it broken when the respawning of gear and items isn't even implemented yet? You can't break something that doesn't exist If it didn't exist no loot would spawn period. A primitive system exists. Inception. 9443 Posted February 10, 2014 don't argue with morons. they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Please don't call other users names. And try not to use decade old phrases abusively.
mgc 92 Posted February 10, 2014 Things should magicly re appear because all the food will be eaten eventually and we will all be forced to eat brains.Did yours get eaten already? Unless there is a way to rebuild civilization (and atm there isnt), we are forced to make a living by scavenging. Apparently 40 players would only last a couple days in an area the size of cherno. Besides, how is resetting a server to make all loot magicly re appear any different? I will count it as different if you were to die everytime the server resets. byrgesen 1341 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) Werent we "promised" this from the dev team?I think so. Is this not already happening in the mod?I think so.So why are we talking about this again? We already have official confirmation, this will happen at some point. Lean back, enjoy the ride and stop "bithcing" about already confirmed features -_- Respawning Zombies & Loot Target Delivery: Early 2014 Currently to have the server check if something needs respawning can cause an issue with performance. We did not want to go with a "scripted" solution for respawning, and it is expensive on server performance. Player spawning on the coast is conducted by the engine, and we are going to employ a similar process for managing zombie and loot spawn (possibly parallelized). This is a high priority task and zombie respawn at least is very close to being implemented.http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/156129-confirmed-upcoming-features-for-dayz/ Edited February 10, 2014 by Byrgesen
Wheunis 228 Posted February 10, 2014 I will count it as different if you were to die everytime the server resets. For alpha purposes, I've been thinking right from the start that all characters should be wiped every 24 hours or less...Don't get me wrong, I like my character and I like his gear. I just think the devs would get a lot more useful tester data from multiple forced respawns. Would also be fun right after the death restarts to hide on a hill with popcorn to observe the absolute carnage in a place like Cherno/Electro!
archone88 29 Posted February 10, 2014 Respawning of gear is heavy on the server side. And thats only one reason why it hasnt been implemented yet. Stop whining and adjust to the Alpha. Yes, the alpha. Its not a game yet.

I mean, when I lived with my parents, and studied, I could easily spend 5+hours a day on a game. Nowadays, Ill be lucky to get 1 hour/day on dayz. Sure, its alpha. And test results are more important. But I also think that theyll get more info from us, if they see more of us inland. Than just on the close quarters of the coast.
