NWAF deadzone

Recommended Posts

Played on a full server yesterday, was hoping to get some PVP action so I ran from the middle of the map to NWAF, which took a good while.

Finally there, I started combing the western tents and the pushed towards the hangers. NOBODY WAS THERE. Found more gear than I cared to carry, but felt obliged to gear myself up like a douchebag.

Is NWAF a deadzone since everyone thinks that it's either certain death to go there, or that it's looted clean, and just stick to other areas. Was boring as shit not to meet anyone.

The one time i've gone there in SA i saw 1 guy, then the server restarted. Afterwards i was shot in a ATC. Put me right off that place, too far to run to get geared for the risk involved.

I've seen loads:

1) Looting tents, zombies either side of my tent failed to aggro a player (they were my early warning system) and a guy ran right past them and shot me.

2) Guy glitched into wall of jail-cell building.

3) Shot a guy who fired his entire pistol mag at me and missed from 50m away.

4) Held up and robbed a guy in the trees near the tents.

5) Was shot in the SW barracks by a guy with an M4 due to lag... I had already put a Mosin round into him at close range, but it did not register in time allowing him to get a burst off with the M4 and kill me before he KO'ed.

6) Found 5 dead bodies scattered around the hangers, fire station and watchtower.

7) Was forced to back out once when I was on the west side after looting SW barracks and spied a group of 4 or 5 heavily armed players around the watchtower and fire station.

To me there has always been something going on up there.

The NWA just doesn't have the same allure as in the mod.

It used to be the only place with barracks and the military loot that came with them. Military loot falls out of the sky in Standalone.

NE has been quite for the last couple of days. I spent some time watching the erm "view"  through my scope for about 20 mins and there was nothing, (I do enjoy the architecture of the hangers).

I wonder if the availability of weapons elswhere is starting to have an imoact?

id say it is working as intended plenty of options for good loot elsewhere without the risk of an airfield pretty much anything can spawn in a office/school building and there is plenty of those dotted around the map in safer places to visit...

Survival game you expect us to go down easy like some retarded moth to a flame???

I came up on the NWAF two days ago on a nighttime server to find the entire place deserted. Pristine. Untouched. Virginal. I wept. Then plundered the joint like a Viking warrior on PCP. No M4, though, which made me sad.

I run in to a lot more players at NEAF than NWAF. Since the east coast is the most common place to spawn now I suspect most people just beeline for NEAF.

I'm glad there are other options then the airfields...I never went to NWAF in the mod. To risky, to competitive. Everyone just bee-lined it for the airfield in the mod when the rest of the map was useless and empty...

It seems even the PVPers are bored. Its 20 times worse for guys like me who only shoot murderers because we have no way to identify them.

I have found this as well, sometimes i fall a sleep while i am waiting for any signs of life in the most 'hardcore veteran' part of the map.

The two people that I've encountered over the last few days in the north have been friendly with me. Seems like more people are exploring and staying away from hotspots.
