Added the TOZ-122 Hunting Carbine and removed the "Implemented Weapons" section to save space.

I have the implemented weapon descriptions saved on a separate word document.

Add both - though the MAC-10 might have a higher chance of making it (because we did not get a .45 APC submachine gun yet).

Edit: I just figured as there are quite a few German weapons on the list and we already got the P1 pistol there might be a place for the other WW2 weapon still in use: The MG42/MG3 - it was suggested before but it seems it drowned in posts. The weapon is around for quite a while so some might have found their way into Chernarus, However, it should be pretty rare and unique.

MG-3 is more likely at the current point because 7.62x51mm is already in the game, but I guess if they want to use that Gewehr 98 then 7.92x57mm could be a candidate.

I doubt we'll see 7.92, though, because Chris Torchia plans to have 7.62x54mmR and 7.62x51mm in the end but it's going to be really hard to convince the devs that we need more high caliber cartridges (besides something like .338 or .243 for dedicated hunting or whatnot)

The bullets are 7.62x54mmR (not 7.62x51mm as they're listed) so technically it's the Blaze and LongHorn that are incorrectly chambered, so they may be changing it to the proper name and adding 7.62x51mm. Chris Torchia said something about this on reddit a little while ago, so who knows?

(The real Thompson Conteder/LongHorn doesn't even have a .308/7.62x51mm variant anyway)

Alright, thanks for informing me about what Torchia said.

I do not really pay any attention to reddit (i hate it)

Hopefully it all works out in the end.

This guy seems to think different. I think they will split the cartridges when they add more 7.62x54mmR weapons (SVD is semi-confirmed for example) and probably call the NATO round .308 Winchester to make it easier to differentiate (also its used in hunting weapons so far instead of military ones).

I think if they wanted to add another high caliber it might be the 12.7x108mm (Soviet/Russian heavy cartridge) - but its not sure if they want heavy weaponry at all (I really hope for a RPG-7 though).

Huh, I wasn't aware, last time I checked the T/C website .308 was not listed, whatever.

I don't like a .50 rifle is necessary, just a long cartridge like .338 for the longest distance sniping should be fine, plus .338 is used in quite a lot more guns than 12.7x108mm.

RPG-7 would be very cool, but I doubt we'll get something like that until the loot management system comes in, for gameplay reasons, even though RPG-7s would be incredibly common alongside things like AKs.

We already got one/two full power cartridges that are well suited for sniping so .338 is not really needed. The 12.7mm/.50 cartridges on the other side are suited for both heavy snipers and heavy machine guns - both of which should be extremely rare anyways. An of course quite heavy and clumsy to use. The RPG-7 could be more common - but still very rare in comparison to assault rifles for example.

Regarding heavy weapons in general:

I understand why people don't want that much heavy weaponry - its supposed to be an apocalyptic world where resources are spare and people struggle for survival and not a military shooter that allows you to use all that crazy stuff on helpless freshspawns.

But thats not really mutually exclusive: I want awesome stuff to be added - and I want it to require awesome logistics to be used.

For example:

If they add a tank it will proably need some repair before it starts working. Even then it needs fuel which should be really hard to get - and it needs a lot to keep going. So you better reconsider that ride to XY because it might end up with you running dry in the middle of nowhere. Any even if you manage to keep fuel logistics running you still have an armored but fairly uncomfortable and slow all-terrain-vehicle. To use the gun you need to find ammo - which should be exceedingly rare and located on dangerous places - and a buddy to aim and fire it as well as another to reload (or you jump around doing all by yourself which should take quite a while). Now keep in mind that all those positions are also pretty limited in their sight so you might another one to tell you want is going on around you in the first place.

So you need:
- find a tank
- make it your tank
- get it working
- running fuel supply logistics
- running ammo supply logistics
- at least four people to use the vehicle to its full potential
- stop your tank and logistics from getting taken away from you (RPG-7 should be more common than a tank I guess)

If you manage to get all this then you might enjoy your reward of having a kickass battle vehicle - you earned it. Now is it worth shooting that bambi?

(I am aware that a battle tank is a extreme example but the message should be clear.)

Haha, finally someone that agrees with the posts  i have been making for months concerning implementation of tanks into Dayz Standalone.

Think of it like this:

Alright say you have a tank, you can easily transport people, weapons, food, and other supplies around the map and still be protected with the thick tank armor and devastating firepower.  However, you have to maintain this monster with the amount of fuel it consumes, the parts it is missing (depends on the condition you find it in), the tank cannon ammunition (give it some heavy weight to it so it requires a few players to lift it and put it inside the tank), the speed of certain tanks.

And hey if the tank breaks down in the middle of combat while you are surrounded by heavily armed combatants, it can either be a damn good bunker, or it can be your metal death bed from a hell fire of explosives and high caliber fire (Armor Piercing, .50 BMG, 12.7x108mm).

Also would allow for the implementation of tank mines to place in the road.  (Although tank mines can be used to take out people and other vehicles)

Tanks would be a huge game changer in Dayz Standalone because it would give a strong post apocalyptic feeling in the sense that it is something that needs extreme care or else it will fail to serve its purpose (whatever purpose you intend that is)

Well, I'm not even against them adding "extreme" weapons. I wouldn't complain if they added a KSVK, M107, or even AS50, but they have to be done correctly.

In the mod they were so terrible because you could run around full speed, with full weapon maneuverability, with a weapon that had almost no bullet drop, and very little recoil even from a standing up position.

If they were to change that, and make something like an M107 or KSVK be an extremely specialized weapon like that, then I'd have no problem with them, because it would not be worth the time it takes to find all of the extremely rare ammo for a gun that is only useful for long range and essentially cannot be used for anything else (even a bolt-action sniper is capable in close quarters, an AMR isn't)

I just don't think they're necessary, because they don't add a whole lot to the gameplay that other, more versatile sniping platforms can. I'm fine with long ranged weapons, it's just I wouldn't add .50s if I was on a constraint for how many ammo calibers we could have.

Tanks, are pretty much the same thing. I'm fine with pretty much everything as long as the work it takes to use something effectively is balanced with how effective it is, but my big problem with tanks is that it's hard to destroy them with anything. Helicopters can be brought down with enough concentrated small arms fire, but even older tanks like the T-34/85 which is one of the oldest tanks still in service can shrug off small arms fire like it's nothing.

The RPG-7 could be an effective counter for a tank like that but even T-72s and T-55s in the middle east can survive PG-7V rockets. The RPG-7 is generally used in a similar role to the M136/M72 LAW now, against light/medium armored vehicles or to suppress and assault infantry, which would be great in the game.

I don't know. I really do want an M72 in the game, though :P

Oh, and Stukov, you could probably remove the Makarov PMM from the "planned to add in no particular order" list, since they've confirmed it :P

it would be fun to see a "sling shot" in the game for the fresh spawns who could craft it out off sticks and rope (rubber band) and use any round as ammo

EDIT: not sure if it was already suggested or not

Will we be able to get conversion kits or actual AVT-40s? Or just SVT-40s if they come?

So I saw someone suggest some old ex-German WW2 weapons and I got thinking...what if we let the old German bolt actions and MGs and not use 7.92x57mm but change it to 7.62x51mm or 7.62x54mmR? I know all the gun nuts would flip and I don't like but it would cut down ontypes and whatnot so it's worth a thought...plus the only plausible German WW2 weapons are the Kar98k, Gewher 41 or 43 (both?) , MP40, MG34, and MG42 but I don't like the MG42 personally the MG34 is more plausible.

MG-42 is far more likely than an MG-34, the MG-34s were pretty lightly used by the Germans as a whole, and even then, they're both extremely unlikely.

You're better off doing an MG-3, because they are still used to this day (even by Germany) and are chambered in 7.62x51mm. The MG-3 is essentially an MG-42 in almost every way.

The KAR-98K or Gewehr 98 I could support, but having them chambered in 7.62x54mmR or 7.62x51mm would be a pretty significant difference, so I'd rather them not.

MP-40 is fine, and it uses 9x19mm rounds so there's no real reason why it shouldn't be in the game.

The Gewehr 43 saw limited use. I mean, yes, it did see combat, but most of the time it's only represented in fiction to balance out the American's M1 Garands and the Russian's SVT-40s, which saw much more regular use.

Even then, it was really only the M1 Garand that was fighting all the time, the SVT-40 didn't see much use until the end of the war.

I just like the old guns, so much more history and depth behind the worn metal than these new plastic guns.

German Automatic weapons of WW2, especially GPMGs would be uncommon due to legality, maintenance, age and ammunition issues. If this was Takistan, I would like to see them as the Soviets flooded the area with German surplus during the cold war. As stated the MG3 would be more fitting and is a somewhat common GPMG across Europe.

Well, I'll agree, to an extent. But these are just pixelated renditions of them, not real guns.

Regardless, I'd rather see an SVT-40 than a G43.
