So ive noticed in the latest patch, 9/10 times its been raining when i join or during my play session, anyone else notice this? As well as one time there was thunder! Anyway, its beatiful this rain and i really like it tankyou devs.

Ps i know its been in pre patch but never saw it except first day

I logged into a thunderstorm earlier this morning. Gotta say it was pretty awesome!

But on the down side my buddies and I have all noticed a MAJOR drop in performance ever since. Doesn't matter what server we go to or what the weather is like. Could be mid-day and clear blue skies but after a few mins of running around we all start lagging really, really bad. :(

I saw rain last night for the first time ever in the game, been playing since Christmas. Was going to post about it and saw this post..

With regard to the effect hitting the ground, anyone who's played STALKER will know how fabulous this can look. Especially absinthe ground takes on a wet appearance.

I always enjoyed the rain in the Dayz mod. Of course getting wet meant getting cold and needing to build a fire to warm up of find shelter. Still, it gave the game an extra demention it enjoyed

Hmm might run client side maybe to not affect server performance maybe *shrug* no idea just speculating.

Loving the weather effects now though and clouds not seeming to blow forever east now, or maybe i just lost my sense of direction; that's more than probable!

So you have to set the server to either rain or sunny? It doesn't auto transition?

Either way I love the rain and it would be nice to see some other weather also maybe hail or severe wind, I know the snow is a tuff one but that would be awesome.
