naidzis4dewin 0 Posted February 7, 2014 I love the improvement and new stuff but does anyone know if they are planing on touching this part of the game soon or what do you think about about the game performance. I run gtx 770 SC and can't get decent FPS in cities. I know that you can improve your fps if get a SSD and install the game in it.

It'll decrease load times, but that's about it. I went from a 2TB W.D. Caviar Black HDD to a 240GB OCZ Vertex 3 and didn't notice any difference except the load times, as it should be. I agree with you about cities being very laggy, though. They have yet to be optimized, as far as I know. Edited February 7, 2014 by Grimey Rick
real meatshield 424 Posted February 7, 2014 weird. i run a 670 gtx, and i have my streaming software running in the background (and can even have BF4 running as well in the background- dont ask), and have no excess frame drop anywhere on the map. Granted, at max graphics settings with a live stream going @1080p, I hang at around 30fps, but its playable for sure.

I wouldnt hold my breathe on huge optimizations will it get better yes will it get alot better probably not hope i am wrong but they have been working with RV engine what 12 years?? Yet have never cracked performance issues greatly..

e00c 84 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) This game is demanding on the CPU/GPU. High temps can sometimes lead to lower performance. Have you/people considering that there might not be enough air flow cooling your components effectively? I say this, as my system isn't great - but pretty much all the time I'm around 60fps (only on a HD5870). Cities, 30-40. (not due to cooling though, but it helps keep it stable).I have to wear slippers when I play... the air from my pc is freezing! GPU temp never rises above 50... Just a thought.. naidzis4dewin 0 Posted February 7, 2014 The thing is I manage to get 30-35 fps in cities before the patch now Im getting 20-25 and it depends where Im looking. Anyone else notice something like this?

Your FPS should outmatch mine, easily. I'm running an i5. Seems to be pretty hit and miss with system specs = performance. No doubt, soon the tables will turn and I'll suffer instead. Still... we're a long way off the final game. Plenty of time of various tweaks and whatnot. Providing it doesn't sink too low, it's still playable  I can't take my hands off it at the moment >:(
hrdrok 183 Posted February 7, 2014 Rocket said in his AMA a couple weeks ago that they have received reports from intel, nvidia, and ati/amd that show were improvements can be made. He said there is a LOT of room for optimization.

zaphodity (DayZ) 41 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) My gtx 560 ti keeps on rocking decent framerate I don't see what the problem here. I use custom settings on a Haswell i7 4700MQ and a Geforce GT 740M and have no problems on my craptop. Quite happy Jim. While it doesn't directly increase frame rates running the game from an SSD definitely makes for a smoother overall experience and I would recommend it to anyone that either already has or is thinking about buying one. Excessive overclocking sometimes or maybe even often doesn't bring any performance boost, they run even worse if the system doesn't run stable due to overclocking. Doesn't have to be with any program but there are some programs such as ArmA which is very bitchy, a buddy overclocked his system and got some negative results when playing ArmA. An i7 should have enough power in standard clock unless you want to calculate a rocket trajectory to the moon. Only because you got 10k more points on 3D mark doesn't mean it will be noticable in practice. A quick loading SSD will make the game feel more fluid, you will notice the difference maybe even more than overclocking a CPU by 10%. And it does affect the fps a bit if your hdd makes your game "stutter". Edited February 7, 2014 by Enforcer
