Does the SKS bullets stray to the left like the mosin or does it hit dead on?

Recommended Posts

Do you have to aim to the right like the Mosin? Did anyone have the chance of abundance of SKS ammo to test it out at the range with zombies?

P.S If you don't know or aren't willing to give the info, please be polite with your posts.

As far as I know the Mosin only pulls to the left if your scope is damaged, otherwise its pretty accurate.

I would assume the SKS is about the same, with slightly more dispersion.

With iron sights I was hitting dead on from about 150 meters. If I get a PU today I'll see if it does.

Mosin pristine LRS pristine and in testing i hit 6 and 700 m shots on zeds with no problems at all no pull to the left ??? only tried the sks with iron sights so range testing is short but it seems quite accurate as noted maybe a slightly worse dispersion rate than the mosin...

Don't they only pull to the left >800m?

If it shoots to the left then it shoots to the left at every range... the bullet isn't going to change course mid-flight.

Abundance?

I've come across one box and a small pile of 4 bullets for my SKS.

4 the 4 rounds in the air to test speed to shooting and to scare my friend senseless.

About 10 more hitting the ground while shooting zombies while prone.

10 left :(

Remember! The bipods are always good for trying to shoot long range!

A slight pull to the left would be exaggerated by distance.

Shooting anything passed 200 meters with the SKS would be a waste, the damage drop off is too great after that distance.

Not true. I have a pristine LRS on my pristine Mosin and one day its up and to the left, next day its down and to the right. There is no pattern whatsoever.

All mosins I had were pulling to the left, both the rifle and scope were pristine, but it seems to be a problem when shooting at more than 400-500 metres anything less and the pull is negligible.

I'm going to test the LRS at >600m right now and report here, because Ive seen and heard nothing about a fix for that. Previously, any quality of LRS above ruined (possibly ruined too, didnt test) was causing a pull to the left that became easily noticeable at 600+ meters; that is, badly damaged - pristine. The pull was the same for each quality.
