Kushko 36 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Is it just me or is this getting worse by the day? Feels like there are more and more "friends only, join and you will be kicked" servers on the list every day and just now i joined 3 servers in a row and got kicked within a minute of each join (and the servers didnt even have the kick description, although i am well aware that kicking is against the rules with or without the description). And while i think the 5minute server hopping rule is a great idea, i think that they should either really drop the hammer on those kick servers or make it so you dont get the wait time penalty if you are kicked (preferably both). I apologize for the rant, but it just gets to me that they're left to do this so openly even though it was clearly stated that its against the rules (i mean for gods sake they even put it in their server name...its not like its hard to find most of them). Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted February 6, 2014 Question, why are you joining a server that tells you that you will be kicked??
Kushko 36 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Question, why are you joining a server that tells you that you will be kicked?? I'm not, i just added those to my rant because it was somewhat connected. :P The now 4 kicks happened on low pop servers (yes i know...but i want to gear a bit in peace) with no mention of kicking. DemonGroover 8836 Posted February 6, 2014 Question, why are you joining a server that tells you that you will be kicked?? Because if they do kick you, you can report them and their precious little server will get taken down. If you don't get kicked you cannot report - a server title means nothing.
Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) I'm not, i just added those to my rant because it was somewhat connected. :PLol, gotcha. I'm not sure if you can even report them to anyone but there was a thread somewhere about this and pretty much nothing can be done. Edit: Mod answered your question lol Edited February 6, 2014 by Caboose187

I've seen more than enough servers like this and I have no issue joining them to see if I get kicked just so I can report it B)

I joined a server to get kicked immediately. The next server I joined, I had a 200 and some second respawn timer. This is one thing that they need to fix. Sadly, I dont think their is anything they can do than adjusting the wait timer for getting kicked. People who pay for servers have admin capabilities meaning they can do what they please with the server.I respect that much. Seeing how the timer is on this current patch, I am sure their will be updates and changes to make us happy on the next one. Guess we will have to wait and see! If you don't get kicked you cannot report - a server title means nothing. How do i actually prove it though? The kick massage doesnt state the server name. Do i have to make a video of it happening or will they just act on my information that it happened? Also TBH i think that threatening to kick non friend/clan players in the server title should be against the rules just as much as actually doing it is. frosti 2165 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Admins pay for private servers so they co do whatever they want/can. So thank god that they can't see your position on map or spawn items or teleport (yet). Edited February 6, 2014 by Frosti

They actually cant do whatever they want/can. There was a post a dev or even Dean Hall (cant remember) made that kicking a player for anything other than offensive/abusive behavior and/or cheating/exploiting is against the rules and will result in taking the server down with no refund for the server purchase. *edit* Here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/ Edited February 6, 2014 by Kushko

dallas 5195 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Good luck proving that and have fun going throught reporting procedure. It's pretty easy and takes no time to report a server. First time might take a little longer, but once you've reported one, it takes about 2 minutes. The GSP simply reads your report, check the server logs for the insta-kicking code and takes the server down. You really think it's okay to rent a public server, connected to the public Hive, so you can password it, loot it, restart it, loot it and then switch to another public server and use all that gear, you farmed with zero risk? How is that not pay2win? How do i actually prove it though? The kick massage doesnt state the server name. Do i have to make a video of it happening or will they just act on my information that it happened? Also TBH i think that threatening to kick non friend/clan players in the server title should be against the rules just as much as actually doing it is. The GPS can check the server logs or locate the code in the server config. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/To sum it up. Report the server's name and IP to one of the five Game Server Providers. Multiplay: support@multiplay.co.ukVilayer: abuse@vilayer.comFragnet: abuse@fragnet.netGamingDeluxe: admin@gamingdeluxe.co.ukGameservers: support@gameservers.com If it's unclear which provider, send them to all five.
