I only had some small fun when I was with a group and we were helping new spawns on the beach. I mostly play solo and from 10., 9 of them shoot me on sight. I don't have any weapons, and even when I am armed better then they are I holster my gear and go all friendly. Boom head shoot, I mean come on?! I try to join only NO PVP, Friendly server, be good bla bla and its the same shit. Today I was doing my running around, found "bambi" and say HI, friendly. No asnwer from him. Ok, who cares. And I got a gun in my hand i hear him piciking a gun, putting bullets in it. He does all of that slowly, no need to rush. Comes back down to me, I see him boom head shot on me... Nice, very friendly server. I want to gear up, go in a fire station. Some fucking psycho logs in next to me. Scream's die bitch die bitch hits me with a axe, I start to bleed like hell. But somehow the stupid asshole fails to hit me more then ones. I pull out my axe and hit him back. So he starts to bleed also, the pussy that he was full in gear starts to run away. I say to myself ill follow you damn bastard. Start running behind him. And after 20sec combat logs out of the game... Hell yeah son, good job! And that was in a NO PVP, very friendly server - The fuck? You still don't have shit to do in this game and if the people are stupid as hell, the game starts to be very boring...I would really like to see someone handcuff me, force feeds me some junk, rape my ass, etc - do something interesting, use your imagination. Let's make it interesting. But no, just when they notice you. Boom shoot anyone on sight. So I got 55H of Dayz and I can say only bad things about the players. In all of those 55h found like 3-4 random people who were cool. So I was thinking to pause a bit, but saw how RUST has a lot more friendly community. All of the youtube vides I saw were very interesting. I was like wtf? You got a m4 and you didnt shoot all of those random people, how nice to see something like that... Zarniwoop 1193 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) People are a-holes in real life too. Playing on Hardcore helps for me. Less people camping stuff for the lulz at least. I don't like random nothing-to-gain KoS but it is a legit playstyle in free sandbox world and I can do nothing to change that outside of the game. The only way to grief in a sandbox game is to cheat or use game breaking exploits like hiding inside the church walls. Son, think a bit. Good logic, shoot me and get useless gear...Headshots destroy nothing but the helmet and even center of mass shots don't destroy your gun. It also makes me wonder about the kind of mind that is shot time and time and time again by players he encounters, yet still runs up to them like he just don't give a fuck, desperate to say hello, then comes on here and complains when he's shot again. DayZ is a survival game, and that means that you have to adapt your tactics in order to survive. Keep getting shot by players? Hey, here's a thought - why not avoid players or stay out of sight until you can be sure whether they're friendly or not? Believe it or not, I actually agree with some of OP's points - there are WAY too many assholes and KoS players in DayZ right now, and it's having a negative effect on the experience for many players, but there's also a limit to how much blame I'm willing to lay at the feet of the community and how much blame I'm going to put on the player for doing dumb stuff. 13 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Play Pretend 6 Posted February 3, 2014 I think once the end game gets built up a bit, meaning that the developers add in crafting and the ability to make towns and the benefit of not killing people becomes higher then the benefit of killing people then the community will change. randomtask 18 Posted February 3, 2014 Haha, my very first time logging into Rust I was approached by 2 armed guys. They said hey are you new to the game? As soon as I started to reply with, "Yes," my body was filled with about 20 bullets. Maybe that was my initiation? Anywho think about it, if it was real life zombie apocalypse and you were running around in the world solo and managed to see another human. Do you honestly think you would approach them and make friends? Even the maker of this games says it would be nothing without, bandits/dumb players. That's what makes the game fun I think. This game gets you going better than any horror game ive played. And yes I have been back stabbed a few times in DayZ. But I still continue to play the way I want. There are a lot of other factors to it as well. Sadly, no-one wants to listen to reasoned debate and hypothesis on here at the moment - they'd all much rather cry about how the nasty mean people keep shooting them even when they ask them not to, or brag about how elite their skills are because they shot twelve unarmed players in the face in ten minutes the other day. whothehellishe 81 Posted February 3, 2014 Forget about it and move on, sure it sux i know, i had two encounters today, a full geared guy who at the end was friendly and proposed a trade, which took us about 15 minutes, and some other guys who shots us as soon as we entered the airport, the whole firefight took 10 secs and all the gear was ruined. So ye they should have rob us instead of just KOS, much more fun, actually i would even prefer to get handcuffed and fed rotter kiwi, but hey some people enjoy sitting in Balota for hours waiting to KOS people for the fun of 10 secs, i wont judge, its a game. But like everything in life, there is always balance. If you don't have balance everything turns into shit. So I would just like to see a bit more positive people in this game and not 90% trash...
