Please for the love of god fix the random reloading sounds, the zombies that aren't there,  and the player eating sound when absolutely noone is around. Theres nothing like trying to fill a bottle with some water from a creek and hearing a zombie that sounds right behind you but it isn't there, because you're in the middle of nowhere.

I agree with you OP 100% :beans:

 

good ambient sound effect is great for immersion and atmosphere but random sound effect no logic taking away immersion kill atmosphere >:(

 

what this new sound guy doing apart from ruin magnum sound ??? :huh:

If i'm not mistaken - the random noises are coming from the wildlife at the moment. when you hear those random zombie noises, it's actually coming from a  near-by rabbit. It'll probably be fixed when they patch in the proper wildlife.

Oh I know. Maybe it's a mental illness system in the works lol, your character can now develop schizophrenia haha

If i'm not mistaken - the random noises are coming from the wildlife at the moment. when you hear those random zombie noises, it's actually coming from a  near-by rabbit. It'll probably be fixed when they patch in the proper wildlife.

 

 

 

 really? Then the guy thats doing the sound for the standalone really fucked up on this lol

yup, adding an immersive soundtrack is definitely more important than anything. who needs optimized data consolidation anyway. memory leaks? bitch please.. and all this talk about damage handling moved to the server, i already fixed that on my TI-82, it does now dmg calculations while the graphic function draws boobs.. cmon now guise, fix the sound!

Haha, it does keep you on your toes, but sort of sucks when you are near someone before they leave an area but hear those sounds for 5 minutes after they do.  Myself and a few buddies got pinned in a building once or twice when we heard someone walking around outside the building, after we got into a firefight with some people, but the last guy was already dead or left the area.

 

EDIT: I do agree some other things need to be fixed before this, just hopeing this gets a fix sooner rather than later.

they have new specialist sound guy only thing he need to focus is sound :)

This just in: BIS gives all 3D artists, game designers and non-sound programmers a month of paid holiday while the sound guys fix this issue.

i was sarcastically referring to OPs "before you fix anything else" demand..

 

but on a serious note, its not about having the sound files alone: this means declaring events that trigger sounds, hooking event handlers to those, and of course actually having code that calls the respective methods.. so the sound guy may well be finished doing his sound stuff, but the implementation may still be long ahead

I'm sure Rocket said somewhere that Zombie noises from wildlife is there as a place holder until the animal sounds get added. I presume this may tie in with the hunting bit too..

It is not the fucking rabbits... I was on top of the factory in Cherno, highest point above ground anywhere and I literally was hearing a concert of all kind of random noises... Zombies, drinking, reloading etc etc... It was like I was hearing everything everybody was doing in the server...

I don`t care. I know they fix it anyway.

I accept the note in the patch.

 

Why has <insert any bug> not been fixed yet when there is new content coming in?
While priorities are very important when assigning work, there is a limit to how many people can work on a complex task without making it even more complex. Also, many of the team are focused purely on content/design so while the important stuff is being fixed, they continue to provide content and design updates.

Read the pertinent posts first.

Dean talks about this - they have a dedicated sound professional in the studio reworking sound entirely.

Sound in the game right now is a crap placeholder.

Perhaps they could just mute the game 'til they're done?

The zombie sounds are often coming from rabbits. ^^
