Vicco 123 Posted January 30, 2014 Unless you've got a vid, I don't believe you. There are no bandit skins. So calling somebody a "bandit" is BS. Unless you've recorded a "bandit" doing bandit activities - and that's open to interpretation - just say "I killed a player." Too many time I even see vids where guys kill a player who has done absolutely nothing except be in the wrong place at the wrong time. "Got that bandit." BS, unless you're okay with making up definitions to suit you. The are no bandits in the standalone. There were bandits in the mod. I don't care if you cried "Really, I'm not a bandit." The skin told me all I wanted to know. So kill all you want. Be proud if you want. Just don't put the "bandit" label on your kills unless you can justify it. Hey, I can't stop anybody from misusing the word "bandit." But I'm not buying it.

DemonGroover 8836 Posted January 30, 2014 If you see someone camping Elektro hill or the top of a fire station/hospital etc then you can assume they are a bandit, or a wannabe bandit. These peanuts are fair game.
libertine 351 Posted January 30, 2014 If you see someone camping Elektro hill or the top of a fire station/hospital etc then you can assume they are a bandit, or a wannabe bandit. These peanuts are fair game. But thats where everyone is. If you want to counter-snipe thats a good place to go. The alternative is to sit for hours somewhere with lower populations praying to witness a killing that you can somehow positively identify wasn't self-defense. As someone who does this the majority of the time I can tell you this is not very fun for long.
DemonGroover 8836 Posted January 30, 2014 Whenever i enter Elektro for example i always scour the hill for snipers and if i see one i try and loop around and take them out. There isn't really a doubt that anyone sitting in one spot overlooking a town from known sniping spots isn't a bandit.

Sinphaltimus 262 Posted January 30, 2014 player = banditAbsolutely. Do you own the houses you are stealing food and supplies from? No? You are a bandit. Do you own the gear you "found"? No? You are a bandit. STFU you whiney little pansy, Everyone is a bandit to some degree or you die. You can't tell me how to mis/use words. You must be a bandit!*Goes off to hunt bandits* When humanity is at the brink of extinction, then I honestly doubt property ownership matters even more. You're not stealing if the guy you're taking the items from is already a zombie you know. A bandit is quite simply somebody that steals items from the living, not the dead. Uutgrunnen 96 Posted January 30, 2014 Saying that you killed a bandit is just a psychological solution to ease one's conscience. NO you did not kill a bandit, you killed an innocent person who barely survived the ending of the world as we know it!He/she was struggling to cope with the post-apocalyptic world before you came by and killed the poor basterd in cold blood. To find bandits one only has to look in a mirror... We're all bandits, cope with it or cease to exist.

These peanuts are fair game.Since humanity's gone from the mod/SA, bandit is just a feel good term, like calling someone a griefer, or a terrorist. I really wish people would drop it. comikz 218 Posted January 30, 2014 I agree that it is distinctively hard to truly identify a "Bandit" from say a person with zero intent on killing anything that moves, besides zombies. But the intent is there if you witness someone going onto "Sniper hill" in Elektro or ontop of the School/Fire station buildings, I mean why else go up there, I am probably wrong, but my "Bandit-O-9000" radar triggers when I see people in those area's especially when they have a Mosin+LR Scope. But in all fairness I do the same thing, but I am more of an observer with my Mosin+LR Scope, I very rarely fire at someone, unless I have observed that person just going around shooting freshies/bambies, then I take action. But I agree, making a video or posting on the forums saying you killed a "Bandit" doesn't mean the person you killed was one, without some sort of visual proof, like that person killing freshies/bambies just because he/she can, then to me, you just killed another survivor trying to make his/her way through a popular area in the game. punkvegita 44 Posted January 30, 2014 Sure and all the elektro stuff which could be argued either way because at the end of the day that is a pvp town. How about post where ppl are in military bases like balotta and they say they killed all these bandits. Reality is like this guys said earlier we are all bandits. DarkwaveDomina 1099 Posted January 30, 2014 There isn't really a doubt that anyone sitting in one spot overlooking a town from known sniping spots isn't a bandit. If I am overlooking a town with my long-range scope it's probably because I am scouting it, checking to see if doors are shut and zombies are present, so that I know no players are around and I might actually get some good loot. Vicco 123 Posted January 30, 2014 The only way to know an unknown player is a "bandit" is to catch him banditing. All else is pure speculation.Or excuse.

With almost everyone in the game KOSing, everyone is a bandit. There's no real way to be a hero without being a bullet / axe sponge. So people are correct when they say "killed the bandit". Maybe if they had a humanity system that actually worked, you could differentiate kills.
