dayy 173 Posted January 28, 2014 My aim in Dayz is to become a hero, kinda like RhinoCrunch (youtuber), so I just wan't to know if I handled this right... So I see this bambi, who was harassing another with racists comments...I go up, and tell him to back down, the victim, sprints off. For the next 2 mins, the harasser follows me around, I begin to yell at him through the com to 'GET BACK', he ignores me, and sprints, fists raised to attack, I swing around, and quickly knock him out, then proceed to beat his body, till he died... Not that I care, but he knows that there will be lots of new players in Standalone, there will be newbs who will be pissed being killed over and over, so he is pretending that he is a hero saving bambies, hoping for more subs on his youtube channel.. Dont try to be as a "some" youtuber. Most videos are heavy edited. Look at FrankieOnPc. His videos are the best to watch (for me) but sometimes I doubt he is being legit.. I still watch him. Just be yourself. And dont just hellp everyone you meet. I watched one of his Rust vids, and somehow he killed a dude whom ambushed him, and had an M4, and full Kevlar, while Frankie was naked with a handgun. If you play Rust, you would know, that's next to impossible to beat! Like orlok said I'll get back on topic. Thanks guys, I feel completely satisfied with what I did, and I will try to play the Bandit/Hero with my Friend. Im not sure about trying to be like ANY youtuber...just say you want to be hero, non KOS. as for playstyle, its just too early at this point. Unless you really dont mind loosing your gear a lot then go ahead and be good. at the moment its just infuriating. I'm weird, I if I have better gear, I make it clear to my opponents that I'm not friendly, but otherwise I interact, and help people. Example, this guy, whom was 2x better than me gear-wise, needed help, knowing full well that I could get killed, I still helped the guy fight off a few zeds, in return, I got a friend, and a guardian whom helped my loot. If you took the time to post this thread, you probably have a feeling what you did was wrong for your character make-up. What you should have done was knock him out and leave the area. When I struck him, and he fell, meaning he was unconscious, his character got back up, me, thinking somehow he had gotten back to consciousness, killed...Is this happening to everyone? If you want to play Hero, and you enjoy it... do it. Personally I can't stand the KOS mentality in the game... but I understand that is how some will play it. I'd much rather work together with others and play how Rhino depicts in his videos. He has stated in the past he played as a bandit in the mod version but found it boring eventually and now wants to play as a Hero. Who am I to doubt him? There was a post he made from last May stating he wouldn't play the stand alone. Can no one change their mind? It doesn't make anyone a hypocrite to get more information and change their mind. Do I believe that is how he plays for real? I couldn't care less if he does or doesn't. Don't fool yourself... ALL youtubers edit their stuff. All of them... yes... ALL OF THEM. If they tell you they don't their lying. The guys that post "This is my first time in game and I'm just going to wing it " are lying as well... or just stupid. Who cares about your first impressions as you're experiencing the game for the first time? I could do that myself. Play for a while and THEN give me your first impressions. (Which I believe is what they are all doing anyway) None of those popular DayZ youtubers are beyond reproach. There are videos accusing Frankiein1080P of hacking in his mod videos... some pretty compelling stuff out there. To me, it doesn't make them much less entertaining. I don't watch those videos and think I can then go do all those god like things I see in the video. You're fooling yourself if you think that.
