Remove Payday Masks from Game

Recommended Posts

mask = assumption of bandit = death. i like them, allows for the creation of a stereotype. i dont wear masks because i feel that is something a bandit would do. i just cruise with my sunnies and cap.

I don't use the masks, I don't much care if other people do. But could we paint them? A plain black, green or camo look would be cool.

I don't have a problem with the payday masks from an immersion perspective, but I think adding them, burlap sacks, handcuffs, and the feeding of poison as pretty much the first mechanics of this game really set a particular tone.

Eh. It sort of bothers me that the masks are from another game. Beyond product placement I don't understand why they're in the game.

Having said that, though, they do serve a purpose; as many people have said, they serve as a good identifier for bandits. It would be nice to see original masks, however, alongside ski masks and balaclavas.

Also if there were beards just lying on the ground everywhere, I would lose my shit. I'd buy this game 10 times over. Perhaps you can craft a beard per-hair. Of course each hair would take up a 1x2 inventory slot.

I agree, they should either remove it or make it quite rare (spawn in prop-like shops).

Yep,i agree with the whole notion.

Payday masks have absolutely no place

in the loot table of a post apocalypse Soviet State.

(+they are ugly and lack creativity, along with pipsi and spite)

So? Don't use them. I don't like American assault rifles in post-apocalyptic former Soviet Union country, so I simply don't use it. Easy.

This is the only mask I want to see added to the game...

We just need a Guy Fawkes mask.  Add that, and I'll be mistaken for a bandit without end.  That mask needs to be implemented :/  It is too universal to be left out!

Also, I used to wear the Wolf mask because it looks frickin sweet!  A group I ran into (and who didn't KoS me) let me join them then said, after we moved to the next town, that I should take it off because "it makes you look like a bandit."  I hadn't even thought of that and was still fresh to the bandit concept (only had like 20+ hours on the game).  I took it off, but occasionally I throw one on for old times' sake.  It looks cool and is a good identifier.

But still... Guy Fawkes mask.  Let's make this happen!

I fail to see how it's an issue, of course they'll be rarer later on. It's not fair to just jump up and yell "GET RID OF IT, GET RID OF IT!" right after something comes in.

How do I insert image? :/

There is an image icon sitting a little bit down and to the right of the "Size" menu (Directly under the color menu). Click that, and give the URL that links directly to the image. If it doesn't work, save and upload your image to an image website and then copy the direct link it lists.

Thanks! It said something about image extension not being allowed when I tried to copy the URL, I guess I'll have to upload it then.

no seriously:

let the players paint them and add bandana face variants for the bandits

the heros have get thier cowboy hat and UN Helmets.

a full black payday mask would be awesome for example.;)

no need to remove something.

When I played on release, a lot of players I saw were wearing this (Most likely due to the fact that you could find the Payday masks quite easily), but recently I haven't seen players wearing it as much, although this may be different for you guys. A few posts I'm seeing are mentioning that they kill or don't trust anybody who wears the Payday mask. Surely this should create a negative image for the mask, meaning less players will want to wear it. As for new players who find, they will eventually learn of the 'consequences' of wearing the mask.

It's product placement, but hey, at least there isn't a billboard for it, imagine how much that would kill the immersion.
