razguul@gmail.com 80 Posted January 24, 2014 So I tried the shotgun speedloader last night and I have to say I'm a bit confused, from my limited knowledge of firearms the speedloader should make it so you can quickly add a new set of shells in the shotgun by clipping them together with the speedloader and then eject them from the loader into the gun. But in the game the speedloader itself loads into the gun, is this a bug or working as intended?I reckon it should just load the shells into the gun so you can add new shells to the speedloader that you keep in your inventory. IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted January 24, 2014 Never found one to experiment with myself, would imagine its a 'magazine'/clip for the shotgun. Might be a bug, might be intended, we probably won't know till the next patch.
blacklabel79 949 Posted January 24, 2014 It works like a Magazine imoh. You load the gun, you load the loader, attach loader to gun, bam 4 shots ready to be fired in rapid suchsession. After that...handywork is needed to reload everything proper. So i think it works as intended.
razguul@gmail.com 80 Posted January 24, 2014 Well, the shotgun in the game is a side-by-side, and the speeloader does not stack with the loaded shells, you can only use the speedloader after you have emptied the gun.
Deathlove 2286 Posted January 24, 2014 Iv found lots of speed loaders so i can see this being useful now that i have more than one.
blacklabel79 949 Posted January 24, 2014 The speedloader Needs to be attached to the gun. So several wont help much since you still have to go to the inventory and Switch them around. Altho...now that i think of it it might be feasable. OR wed be able to attach more than ONE speedloader ? Now that whould be awesome ( say 3 max )

Really handy stuff.

razguul@gmail.com 80 Posted January 24, 2014 BlackLabel, by the sound of it you have not actually tried the speedloader ingame, there is no attaching it, it stays in your inventory until you reload your gun where it reloads into the chamber of the gun, which seems faulty, as surely there is no room for the speedloader inside of the gun without interrupting the fire mechanism.

blacklabel79 949 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) We found several shotguns last night..more than we could carry. And the speedloader. I testfired the gun with the speedloader. Might be i had the loader in my jacket so it appeared Close to the weapon as beign attached. *confused* Anyways...with the speedloader its like a Magazine. Besides...whouldet it make sense to attach it. ( my knowledge about all things shotgun are limited, i imagine its like the "combat shotguns" that have shells on the outside of the gun attached ? ) Edited January 24, 2014 by {Core}BlackLabel

razguul@gmail.com 80 Posted January 24, 2014 This is pretty much what the speedloader looks like for those who have not seen it in-game.
Deity 54 Posted January 24, 2014 The way speed loaders should work in the game should, in theory, be like mags for any other gun. All you gotta do is hit r to reload but you'd have to manual load the speed loaders. We found several shotguns last night..more than we could carry. And the speedloader. No, this is an old WW2 shotgun so you wouldn't do it with out jimmy rigging the shotgun. The only thing you could do without ruining the gun itself is just use a sleeve that holds rounds, but that could get in the way of aiming since 12 gauges are pretty fat rounds

Yeah! The problem is right now since the speedloader gets loaded into the gun, you have to unload your weapon to reload the speedloader, so if you shoot 2 shots, press reload, speedloader goes into gun, if you dont need to shoot anymore you have to unload your weapon to get access to your speedloader again. irishroy 1347 Posted January 24, 2014 Yup, the same with the revolver-speedloader, sadly...^^
Deathlove 2286 Posted January 24, 2014 Yup, the same with the revolver-speedloader, sadly...^^Dont even get me started about the revolver speed loader. That thing is rarer than the gun itself. And the shotgun speed loader is way more common than that one lol.

Judopunch 523 Posted January 24, 2014 No if you have speed loaders you just press R like a cartridge and it reloads without having to open up the inventory to do it manually. Really handy stuff. This, if you have two in your inventory you may quickly reload twice. You will want to first load shells into the shotgun. Secondly have the speedloaders (like a magazine) loaded. After firing your loaded shells click the middle mouse button or R and you will instantly reload the gun. Without speed loaders you need to open your inventory and drag'n drop amo. Gekkonidae 270 Posted January 24, 2014 After testing mine out on a pack of zombies, it works just like the magnum speed loader. I tested it using a sawed-off and I was literally able to kill 3 zeds with 1 shot as they were all standing in the same, tightly grouped area. This sucker would work wonders if you had multiple people coming after you that were standing next to each other. Make sure both your shotgun and your snap loader are loaded. Fire first 2 shots from shotgun then press "R" to quickly reload with the snap loader. Fire 2 shots from those and then you have to manually reload everything. Saves a little bit of time. Here is an actual in-game shot of it I just took. I just found one in a fire station:
coltonlong 211 Posted January 24, 2014 The speedloader is just so you dont have to go to inventory to load it. just mouse wheel and youll have the opton. you cant reload like thatt without the loader.
