I have never played the mod or any of the arma games, but I have gotten used to the controls and am already killing all kinds of people. My favorite is killing new spawns, they get so MAD!!! With that being said, I add: there is no right or wrong way to play DayZ - that's what makes it so great. It's strange to say that, but if everybody would play like me - trying to help others, only shooting back when attacked or in danger -the game would lose a lot.Without KoS-players, robbing bandits, sadistic torturers, squads who capture other players and force them to fight to their deaths, Wiggle-cultists, Frenchkillers, fully armed but pantless riddlemasters and even Freshspawn-killers the game wouldn't be so tense. And btw.: if you died 2 or 3 times as a newspan you don't get mad anymore. Why should you? As long as he doesn't camp out the spawn points themselves, and gives us fresh meat a chance to evade and run like heck, then I think him being there adds some urgency to the game and a danger level otherwise not present. Seriously, the zombies are pretty tame once you have yourself a large spanner or even better an axe. Without those that like to kill bambis and unarmed (except for said axe) scavengers like myself to give us a challenge to overcome (i.e avoid being shot in the face) then there's really little else to do in the game except for gather food and water, which isn't that hard if you've played anything more than ten minutes of the game and it gets boring fast. Especially if you're a lone player like myself. My character has just recently stumbled across what is an obvious bambi trap - a full canteen of water surrounded in a neat circle by tins of tuna. I knew instantly it was a trap and there might be a sniper somewhere close, but I had no idea how long ago the trap had been left, and the various dead bambis lying close to the trap didn't give me any clue as to how long they'd been dead for (it would be cool if rather than disappearing when you die/respawn, your body slowly rots away - to give us a perspective on time past since you died). I got very nervous and started stopping every few minutes to listen for footsteps and have a good look around me. Yummi 3 Posted January 23, 2014 I don't understand why people get so mad when they're killed as Bambi's. You should take this opportunity while you have nothing to lose to learn how to navigate without being spotted. Practice your situational awareness, and how/where you move to avoid this. I have been running up/down the coast plenty of times and if I see someone who may be a threat I change my route to try and get around them safely. If they shot me all that means is they have good eyes and that I need to learn to be more cautious.Most you players who get killed are running down the middle of the road anyway, what exactly are you expecting to happen? If you can spot these Bambi's running on the coasts without them spotting you, I'm sure the same thing would happen in the airfields. Teach them to play a little safer, make them practice. Exactly I havent said a word about PVP, but what you do is not PVP, its act of noobish cowardness, camping guys with flashlights... not for gear, not for defense, not for supplies.
