10 minute is not enough to loot dead bodies you put down

Just to clarify...

 

These 10 minutes are only here to increase server performance. Correct? 

 

It is not permanent until the game is further optimized?

The devs or mods basically said something about 10 minutes being a placeholder or test, BUT also that a certain short time is intended to prevent running back to corpses to regear.

It's highly likely that the timer will get longer in the future once stability is less of an issue. In my opinion a corpse does not have to stay hours, especially in big servers people will eventually play on. But anything between 30 to 60 minutes seems acceptable to me. If possible, even more. The more the merrier.

If you die to players you usually can't get back to regear anyway. Most of the time your body will be looted a bit or completely. If you're in a group for now and want to preserve gear (because a corpse realistically doesn't vanish in 10 minutes), just DROP THE GEAR on the ground. In short: Strip corpse, circumvent timer.

Not viable for all, but then again it's a simple fix for groups.

 

wouldn't this just create the same if not more problems with th servers. The ten minute timer seems counter intuitive as people will just start stripping corpses creating more problems.

There will always be a decay time, how long? good question, but you can't just expect to pile day after day of gameplay and expect every single body to remain in place, that's nonsense and grossly overestimating the capacities of any game server.

Naturally. I just wanted to clarify that the number is so low because it helps with server performance. I imagine the number could be increased once further optimizations are made. I'm not a developer so I am ignorant how this all works... 

 

Is this going to have a noticeable effect on servers? Perhaps less rubberbanding? /clueless.

I agree is not long enough example for guys who sniping also if you attack 2 guys or squad by time firefight finish 1st bodies going away before fight is over  :huh:

 

 

 Or change your tactics. If the objective is loot, be sure to kill the guy with the best gear last. :)

As someone who likes to use bodies as bait, I find this terribly disagreeable.

 

However...  "Alpha," and I'm hoping it's just a place keeper, as mentioned.

 

In the meantime, I'll just lay a pack in the middle of the road, and use that as bait.  ( I hope when spray paint is implemented I can put a huge X under it.  Acme style. )

People go in groups and before looting, it takes a lot of patience to clear any other threats. If it's only 10 mins then we won't be able to loot after the long cat and mouse game. 

 

What do you guys think?

 

 

10 minutes is terrible,anything less than 30 minutes is terrible Ill give 45 minutes is reasonable, time to finish up fire fight and/or run back to body

I think they should just make the spawns better, and they won't have to worry about so many bodies from people suiciding them selves lagging the server

 If you die in northwest airfield, you have time to run back from the east coast and loot your old corpse if its unlooted..
