Damnyourdeadman 1045 Posted January 17, 2014 It's a good idea. Human eyes don't do that though. Cool idea for animals.I think we can make it hapen for zombies too.I mean yes, game's all about realism, but i think we can do this little exception.Running away from a zombie horde in the forest at night, only beign able to see the glare of their eyes.Pure awesomness!

jona (DayZ) 61 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Yay lions! really good idea btw with the eyes Edited January 17, 2014 by jona
overdosed (DayZ) 77 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Uhm, I think that only happens on film(how the camera catches the reflected light from their eys), when you actually look at a lion or whatever other animal at night their eyes dont glow. WondrousMoose 4 Posted January 17, 2014 I like this idea! This would make the tiny light from the flashlight even scarier and would just be a bit more realistic. I'm upping my thumbs here toward you.
Judas666 14 Posted January 18, 2014 Uhm, I think that only happens on film(how the camera catches the reflected light from their eys), when you actually look at a lion or whatever other animal at night their eyes dont glow. It actually happens in real life, I mean you should try going out at night and bringing a flashlight and shining it on one of the stray cats, they're scary as fuck with them glowing eyes. LuckyDog 20 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) This could really help when Hunting is established also. Edited January 18, 2014 by LuckyDog
Tarrin 45 Posted January 19, 2014 This could really help when Hunting is established also. Oh, you`ve found right atmosphere :beans:
AP_Norris 1018 Posted January 19, 2014 Using a spotlight to hunt is illegal isn't it?I would like to see the animals be dazed by the light, would be good to add a teamwork scenario to hunting.
slizzedy 70 Posted January 19, 2014 I agree it would look cool at night, but I think it would remind people of the demon (or whatever) possessed "nazi" zombies from CoD.These zombies are in fact "infected", not possessed. Then just imagine the infection mutated the eyes in a way that they become more reflective. :) I'd really love this as it enhances nighttime atmosphere a lot.
-Gews- 7443 Posted January 19, 2014 Human eyes don't do that though. Cool idea for animals. +1 I don't like it. What, the infection replaced everyone's peepers with cats eyes?
Odinox 0 Posted January 19, 2014 i was watching down of the dead lastnight and theyre eyes are shiney or have more gloss or some sort of effect to them.id prefer walls and zeds being fixed before that ;D
saesh (DayZ) 0 Posted January 22, 2014 +1 I don't like it. What, the infection replaced everyone's peepers with cats eyes? I think "replaced" is the wrong word. (and it´s of course not only cats ;) ) Like Sleezy said, it could be just a mutation as sideeffect of the infection.I mean at the moment the Zeds are seeing you from a very far distance. If this is supposed to be, their eyesight could be enhanced because of the infection.I think it´s a good idea and the night atmosphere would be really creepy aswell o.O
byrgesen 1341 Posted January 22, 2014 (edited) Yes for animals, if you shine a light on them ofc, especially mamals (which is most likely the only type of animal we will get)No for Z's, humans do not have the tapetum lucidum layer in the eyes, necessary for it to glow.Im having trouble seeing how a mutation can cause a brand new layer of tissue to form in the eyes of humans, when we have never had any kind of genes, to make this possible in the first place :) The only thing we should see, could be "red-eye-effect" from taking pictures, with a polaroid camera for example (i already suggested this hehe)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapetum_lucidum Edited January 22, 2014 by Byrgesen
