somethingbloody 118 Posted January 20, 2014 I held a guy up with a .357 once, and afterwards we made him fistfight a zombie and then escorted him around and showed him Rify and the NE-airfield.A few hours later I tried to fire the .357 and it just puffed smoke and didn't fire. I got a good laugh out of that. I bluffed so well even I believed it, I guess.
hombrecz 832 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) I think we would need devs to answer this.Guess it will be added down the road, now it mostly does not matter if stuff is ruined or not, except for scope (not counting hunting one). Would love if ruined clothing had less inventory space, same for backpacks, ruined cans should leak most of the content, ruined canteen & bottle would not hold any water...stuff like that. edit: I think stuff get damaged uber fast now, when you get shot even once, hope they will tone it down. blacklabel79 949 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) If you split and recombine "ruined" ammo it magicly becomes pristine again. The more you know ;) ( a part in me now wonders how many now loged into the game to see if thats true ) Edited January 20, 2014 by {Core}BlackLabel
somethingbloody 118 Posted January 20, 2014 So does anyone have the skinny on whether the Mosin, .357, FNX45 or M4 (receiver) actually have damage states or not? The descriptions are just blank.
blacklabel79 949 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Iam sure the FNX can be ruined. If you load a pristine mag into one and it sill dosent fire..is ruined. Dont think thats implented for other firearms yet. Edited January 20, 2014 by {Core}BlackLabel
Officer25 54 Posted January 20, 2014 Do we have confirmation that bullets won't shoot? In my m4, I unloaded a pristine mag and put ruined bullets in and it shot fine. That's because currently the condition of the magazine is the condition of the ammo in it. Put ruined rounds in a pristine magazine, take it out, and it's pristine. So with a pristine magazine, you can never have ruined rounds..
somethingbloody 118 Posted January 20, 2014 Iam sure the FNX can be ruined. If you load a pristine mag into one and it sill dosent fire..is ruined. Dont think thats implented for other firearms yet.Not 100% sure, but my experience with the dud .357 suggests it might be the same for all weapons. It might also explain the occasional innacuracy with "pristine" M4's and the offset people have reported with Mosins.
muddyraccoon 176 Posted January 20, 2014 I have experimented with 2 mosins and 2 M4's (at seperate times) at the NEAF, using the same pristine attachments (ACOG, Bipod, MP handguard and butt for M4, bipod and LSR for Mosin). From what I surmised to be 500 meters (from DayZdb) I fired at one of the jailhouse's wall. The M4 hit mid line on ACOG, at almost identical spots. One Mosin hit a spot nearly dead center of the LSR, while the other Mosin (using the same attachments and bullets) hit less than half an inch to the left, and more than that short. I would like to try this with more help to get a better sample size of both weapons to better validate the findings, plus I never said I was whoever Judd Law was in that movie, so maybe a surer shot could assist. If I do it again I'll record it.
elPropofolian 12 Posted January 23, 2014 Coming back to cloths:Someone noticed that since the last update, your cloths can be wet?Try it, walk into a lake/watersteam and a blue mark will appear. Will wet cloths make you ill? Damn it, wet or naked...wet or naked?
rydekk 250 Posted January 23, 2014 rocket said in a reddit comment about the condition of canned foods he said; "about the condition of canned foods determine if a can of food is still edible. As an example, a can of sardines in a bad condition may be leaking and thus the contents inside are no longer guaranteed to be edible. It's entirely up to you to dare to eat it or not as spoiled food can be dangerous for your health" or something like that. i can't find the exact post anymore.
