I won DayZ PvE....Now what?

Recommended Posts

Soooo yeah. DayZ PvE? I won.

How?

I started my journey next to a barn in a town called "Kamysho-somethingorother". I was thirsty, so I ran down to a well to drink my fill. Then I turned, put the coast to my back, and since that moment I have not once seen the ocean.

After 2 days of cautious sneaking and exploring everywhere, from the far west, to the northern wastelands, to the far east.....then back to the west and back again east (you get the idea), I managed to find everything I needed to survive:

TTsKo pants and shirt

Jungle boots

Press Vest

Ballistic Helmet

Gas Mask

Black work gloves

Rocket Aviators (All Pristine)

Hunting Backpack

Full Medkit

Storage Box

Ammo Box

Fire Axe

FNx45 w/ 2 mags and red dot. Also 40 extra rounds in ammo can.

Moisin w/ bayonet, PU Scope, and close to 100 extra rounds in ammo can.

Can opener

2 (pristine) bags of rice

Several assorted canned goods.

Full Water Bottle (Canteen type, not the cheap plastic one) ((Purified))

3 water purification tabs.

Full bottle of spray disinfectant.

Healthy status

Oh yeah. And a FULL MAP, w/ Compass.

(no server hopping, never joined a server with fewer than 10 people, except for one occasion when I played w/ a friend)

So what now? Should I just run into the trees up in the northern wastes and sit down with a nice copy of "War and Peace"?

Run around and look for more loot I don't need? Sure, I guess I could go find me some pristine defibs, a walkie talkie, or a cooking pot. But those items serve no purpose. And by the time they do, this character would get killed or wiped anyway.....

So whats left?

I think its time to go hunting....and I don't mean rabbits.

As a side note, I would really like to see a new book added to the loot tables: "Deadliest Game".

Go and tackle the snipers. Barricade the Balota barracks with fire extinguishers. Start a fruit stall at Kamyshovo.

I tried the friendly route once already: I put a backpack in my backpack, filled the extra with food and a purified water bottle, and gave it to a fresh spawn at Kamy.

He thanked me, and when I advised him to get off the coast, he replied "well im just trying to get to balota". He waved, I face-palmed (btw, THAT needs to be a gesture in-game), he left and probably got my food stolen and bleach sprayed in his eyes.

the second guy I tried to help took the storage box full of food (consumable without a can opener or screwdriver or whatever) and a bottle of water, put it in his hands, and ran straight at me, swinging it at my head. I killed him and took my stuff back.

The last guy I tried to help begged me to kill him instead. I did. So I guess I DID help SOMEONE....

Nah. Id rather go hunting.

But im a sportsman. I don't  catch and release my fish, but I don't keep the babies either.....

*edit:

Just to be clear, I do not mean to imply that surviving isn't fun. Had some tense moments. But once you reach a certain point....

experimental servers can be a challenge as they seem not to be reset for ages, and can be hard to find anything. I loved my run on one today, really had to look for things people had missed and encounters with people was also fun as guns and ammo are so rare :P So when I was attacked, it was normally someone with a melee weapon, thinking I had no weapon, as it was hidden in my backpack, BAM!

I hear you. I'm on a mission to start again after wearing out several pairs of walking shoes.

Just not sure on whether I'm going to give my stuff away or wait until someone takes it.

What do you mean now what?

Stan: Yeah.

Kyle: Yeah yeah.

Cartman: All right, yay.

Kenny: (Woohoo! Oh man!)

Cartman: We did it you guys. We're totally heroes.

Kyle: That was such über pwnage

Stan: I can't believe it's all over. What do we do now?

Cartman: What do you mean? Now we can finally play the game.

Kyle: Oh yeah.

Cartman: Okay Kenny, add Eyes of the Beast to your hotbar. Stan, check your fury talents to boost your shots.

Stan: Got it.

This game needs something that would allow us to keep improving our character/base forever. Improve, improve, improve make it better, always keep on improving. Not only by finding items in houses, but modifying items, creating your own items, improving your items/buildings/, anything that will always let you make it better.

Good job on the complete map without server hopping.

Otherwise... feels a lot like a whine thread about non-KoS people, but in sneak mode.

I keep hearing these rumors about rope, sticks, and a burlap sack making backpacks. You should see about that for me.

You won DayZ version 0.30.114008

There is a long way to go.

Yup.  It's not even really a game at this point.  If you're trying to beat DayZ alpha, you're doing it wrong. Test, test, and report... let's aim for a bug free launch!

I want to agree with you and say you won DayZ PVE but you haven't. I have though.

You need more storage to be able to help your team members when they get damaged. Also play on more populated servers... What's the point of having all that stuff if you have no interactions with players?

You haven't beat Dayz if you haven't done the Lord's work. I challenge you to run around with your body bending backwards, hand out the good book and say "god bless" to everyone. Before running off with your body tilted back

Do you mean "the deadliest game" or do you mean the novel (which isn't even a novel but a short story, it's only about 8000 words) which I think you mean "the most dangerous game" (by Richard Connell)? Cause the first one is about some terrorist thing.

Tried that when I saw it while rummaging around in the configs. I don't think the code is there to support it.

Agreed, always have something to work toward, long term goals. I assume a lot of that will be added when we get to make our bases, but I always want something to work toward. Logging into a game and wondering what I should do usually leads to boredom.
