DayZ Hasn't been out for a month yet. A mass server wipe of all hives occurred about 2-3 weeks ago so it couldn't be a month old.

Wow really? Must really suck to be you. I mean, it's not like the game is in alpha and you could lose your character any day and every day because of database wipes anyways. Plus I hear you've been working so hard on your K/D ratio, shame. If I were you I'd send a formal complaint to Rocket, this is obviously unacceptable.

Yeah, I hadn't had it happen either. I was still on my second character from probably close to three weeks ago. 

 

Today, I logged on and thought it was weird that I could see a zombie walking in place. Accidentally hit my scroll wheel and it gave me the gear option as if to loot a dead body. That body was mine. I saw that my character was listed as bleeding.  

 

Apparently the server was desynching as I logged in. My friend made it to my body. He said there was just a zombie standing there and my guy was just kneeling as if still alive. He then experienced some weirdness and we both got off of that server.

 

I've had an AMAZING time with my new character though. Spawned in Beri, met up with my buddy and we hiked across the map. The best part of this game is "rebuilding" your character. In retrospect, I'm seriously glad that it happened. It reminded me that not being attached to your gear in DayZ leads to some truly amazing gaming experiences. I just traversed the entirety of NWAF with fifteen people on the server. I even ran across the runway. It's a blast. If I die again, I'll have a great time getting geared again.

Happend to me too. Logging in took like 5 minutes so, I canceled and went back to the server select screen and picked another server. When I spawned, I was on the beach with all my gear gone. Sucks but it does happen.  Not pissed about it because it's Alpha and all.

Yeah I lost mine with the server connecting to hive bug thing last night too. Sucks for a minute then you realise you get the fun of running carefree through cities while gearing up again. This life I just found 3 protector cases!

really? a month? I find that hard to believe.  Maybe because the game released on Dec. 16.  loosing characters sucks and i have no doubt that you lost a character, loosing characters is something most of us have experienced =(
