cheRubyy 10 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, im pretty new and not that experienced as most of you. I've been wounded by zombies and a player. I lost blood and bandaged myself, but my view was kinda.. "grey" or whatever. It seemed like i lost a lot blood and i heard that i need to "regenerate" my blood. 1. Therefor i need to be full with water + food, is that right?2. Water: i drank like 50 times at a lake/river until "My stomach feels full" showed up. That should be fine :)3. Food: i ate about 7 cans of food (spaghetti, tuna, sardines, ...) but: what messages show that i'm full (concerning food-energy) ? How do i know i ate enough so i regenerate blood? "My stomach feels full" still showed up but taht might be because i drank so much... I kept playing for another 3-4 hours (eating+drinking from time to time) but my view kept being grey... :( Do i just need to eat A LOT more?! 4. another topic-unrelated question: how long does dead player-corpses stay / how long are they lootable (even if they disconnect) ? I read that they fixed that, but i wonder for how long they stay now. Thanks for your help, i hope the topic is in the proper section Greetings,uBy Edited January 8, 2014 by cheRubyy

herrjon 478 Posted January 8, 2014 Yeah, video will explain it all. Just to be sure though, your food and drink go into the same stomach when consumed, but get digested into different containers. You can hold 4000 water and a whopping 20,000. You need at least 3000 water and 3500 energy (food) in order to regen. You get thirsty messaged under 2000 water, and hungry messages only appear as low as 600. Basically, just eat everything you have now (except dried goods) and eat everything you find from here on out. When eating dried good, you need to drink water alongside it so you don't become thirsty, so keep a water spiggate. Also, your health may be low as all, that can only be regained through regeneration, and that won't regen until after you blood is full.

libertine 351 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) I don't like this system. I was happy to *think* at first that the mod forced you into survival mode more often because i was hungry so much causing people to get into tense situation based on survival rather than simple PVP. Plenty of time for PVP and sniping with this system... Edited January 8, 2014 by Thane

I was happy to *think* at first that the mod forced you into survival mode more often because i was hungry so much causing people to get into tense situation based on survival rather than simple PVP. Plenty of time for PVP and sniping with this system... I would disagree. In mod all you need is a couple cans of soda and beans to be good for about an hour or longer. In SA, staying healthy takes a lot of upkeep, especially with water (see Merino's latest videos if you don't believe me). If said sniper decided to screw trying to be healthy and just eat/drink until he doesn't get messages, he may be good for a bit, but he won't last long. In the mod any damage you took in a firefight could be easily done away with using a simple blood bag or wolfing down some meat. In SA, sure you can get your blood level back up, but your health will be crappy, without the sniper realizing it (probably has PP turned off). Next shot that hits him will be his last. Of course the system isn't perfect, but it's better and has a lot more potential than what the mod currently has. Just trust the devs. Edited January 8, 2014 by (TMW)HerrJon
Godsmote 0 Posted January 9, 2014 I was just about to post asking about different types of food and do they give you more or less energy and then saw the video. Many thanks, very helpful.
DropBearChick 1217 Posted January 9, 2014 Just eat one thing of rice then drink till full
Rantanplan 18 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Just eat one thing of rice then drink till fullIf you mean a complete pack of rice and filling up on a pretty much empty stomach, then yes, that is a good start. But it is also only that, a start! It may just get you to the "Healthy" status but not much beyond. Once you are there, keep eating, eating, eating everything you find along with drinking the sodas, and if your happen to be not full, fill further up with water till full. When you have reached the healthy status you have still a reserve of ~16000 more energy that you can fill. If your goal is to become a long-term survivor, you should try to do so.Getting the energy well beyond the "Healthy" threshold will allow you to recover from serious injuries that may leave you virtually blind from the blurring, with just a canteen of water ot two (assuming you aren't already thirsty).
