How to OPEN A CAN with BARE HANDS

I thought this was relevant to the forums interests...

 

Step one: take off label.

Step two: apply pressure with your thumbs on the center of the can, creating a divot

 

Step three: put your palms on either end of the can, interlace your fingers and push together against the can.

 

 

Step four: do step two and three on the other, non-divot side of the can.

 

Step five: depending on the contents of the can, liquid could be coming out of cracks you have created at this point. If careful, you could suck it out. Or, continue bending the can back and forth to get it to crack completely in two.

Fun fact.  If I was starving, I would eat the beans I "lost" off the damn ground, and any edible looking sticks, leaves, or clods of mud that happened to be near said beans.

 

This "losing" materials because I opened a can with an axe or bayonet strikes me as silly.  :-)

Only being able to open cans with sharp things is silly in an apocalypse, as losing contents because you don't use a can opener. (as stated ina comment above) the only useful purpose a can opener should serve is quickly opening a can, nothing more.

ye lets pretend every survivor knows how to and can do this. Also, I once saw an episode of macgyver where he created a fully functioning SUV with roof mounted 50 cal using on alcohol tincture a motorcycle helmet, and 3 rags. Lets let players do absolutely anything in the game that would be feasible in real life. Lets make a life simulator guise

The energy used to open that stuff...geeesh. Plus I think that only works on crappy cans, the ones I got here are...bit sturdier I believe. That said, there is at least one can opener per household so...wouldn't really be an issue :)

 

Been carrying this (LINK) on me for the past 22 years, would love to see some equivalent in DayZ, solves sooooo many problems...
