Stream Bandits.

So i was just chilling in 5hizzle's stream yesterday and someone mentioned a group called "Stream Bandits" are after 5hizzle now I'm not 100% sure of their actual actions but from the videos they have uploaded and from their name i guess they just go around to all the popular streamers and kill them, And as im guessing they use the streams to find out where the streamers are it is Stream Sniping! Which is on the same level of hacking in my book! These guys are assholes and don't deserve to play this awesome game.

 

So how do we stop Stream Sniping you ask?

 

Well it is very hard as you can't actually see people names so I'm suggesting this, Add kill messages in to the game for example if you are killed on your screen it comes up in the bottom left with "You were killed by <insert name here> with a <insert weapon here> from <insert distance here> Then you can have the option to report them in the player menu if you think they are a hacker or like they have stream sniped you.

 

Its just an idea, tell me what you think.

streamer represent maybe 0.000001% of playerbase

 

I don't think is need action for fix ;)

 

also streamer viewer is 10% fanboy who care too much like sheeps and 90% b*stard who want to see funny stream snipe :D

The streamers should perhaps delay their stream 30 mins or so.

 

As for kill messages - it was done in the mod - was silly really.

 

And Stream Sniping is hardly on the same level as hacking.  Streamers aren't a protected species as far as i know.

No in my opinion Streamers and their like is what's wrong with this game. They are the show-offs who have turned this into Call of Zombies 4: Back to Cherno.

If the Streamers want to broadcast their location, they'd have to be pretty damned stupid not to expect someone to use that information to find them. You want attention? Well congratulations, you got it - now you can deal with the consequences of that attention.

 

To claim that this is equal to hacking is an absolutely ridiculous statement.

streamers should make themselfs offline on steam... and make private acc... that's all. It's problem of streamers that they die cuz of their stupidity.

How are we actively supporting Stream Sniping?

 

You are comparing shooting some Streamer to a hacker who could conceivably nuke the entire server and kill everyone.

 

I just don't think the Devs need to deal with the situation when the Streamers could do something themselves.

ok i am convinced now that this is elaborate trolling.

 

 

of course we support it. anyone making his location known or easily identifiable to strangers in this game, should expect that this very strangers turn on him. its the daily routine, core gameplay.

 

if i meet up with a patient or a trade client, i fully expect the possibility that he will turn on me. if i broadcast my location in a teamspeak channel to people i do not trust, i should be not surprised if those with nefarious intentions will use that information against me. why should streamers be different? how should it even be possible?

 

streamers throw a show, they do it for their ego mostly, some even draw revenue from their streams. why on earth should there be different rules for them? why should there be any rules in a game, whose core attraction is being a rulefree sandbox? how are streamers different from any other player?

I stream sometimes, not DayZ though. If I did stream DayZ, I should expect to die as I am telling others where the hell I am.
