Graphic recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hello, DayZ Community.

I would like to know what settings (exact settings if applicable) my EVGA Nvidia EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked can run the DayZ Standalone on with 60 FPS throughout the entire Chernarus map.

I am a huge fan of your game and congratz Rocket on the Alpha release!!!

Kind Regards,

No one can pull a constant 60 fps throughout the whole map, it just isn't possible

Fiddle around with your settings until you find what works best :) (I would disable post processing and anti aliasing for considerably better fps)

Hi, i cannot tell you the exact settings, but i can suggest that you deactivate the postprocessing in the video options menu.

I did that and have a smooth nice dayz experience.

(GTX 650 Ti Boost)

Kind regards

Ozar

I play on a 650 ti Boost (EVGA) and I can hardly get thirty on on low settings, not sure how un-optimized a game could be, but apparently...

I quite remember Arma 2 being this way too... way power hungry for graphics that really aren't astonishing.  Good, but not enough to kill my pc this way.

EDIT:

Figured out how to get some improvements.

1. Turn of AA, use high SMAA

2. NO POST PROCESSING

3. No AO, HDR

4. Set TEXTURES to HIGH.  This will make your card process it instead of your CPU.

5. Disable clouds, Shadows LOW, and Objects Very LOW.

This gives me a reasonable 20-30 frames inside towns.  Keep your 3D rendering at 100% aswell, it makes things look nice, and lowering it doesn't seem to help my frames at all.

Actually shadows on Low makes the CPU render the shadows. So set it to high/very high and it will use the GPU. Was like that on ARMA2 anyway. Good results on SA for me :)

The rest of your system specs are important. I can't even give you a rough estimate without at least knowing which CPU you have.

We need your CPU. And right now, no one gets good frames. I get 30 fps in Cherno with my GTX 680 FTW+ and I5-3570k with several settings on low or disabled. Most of the time I get 60 FPS though.

@OP: I would stick with your current card for the time as it'll be fine at the settings others have posted.

As the game is optimised, we're likely to get better frame rates across the map.

Upgrade your CPU for ArmA 3 and DayZ SA.

Upgrade your graphics card if you want 100fps playing BF4.

Disabling Ambient Occlusion gave me +20 FPS. Other taxing settings are Postprocessing, HDR, shadows, Antialiasing and objects, I believe.

I get decent 40-60 frames or so with my setup I think. Running on medium~ish settings at the moment, some things off, some very low, some high/very high.

core i7 2600k

gtx 570 sc

16 gb ram

256 gb ssd harddrive

win7 ultimate 64-bit

I also put in Arma2 startup parameter settings in steam for DayZ SA, though I'm not sure if they actually work or not lol.
