gabe2000123 20 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) so I have been playing the dayz standalone for awhile and I thought, it would be cool if when you were bleeding your blood dripped on the ground leaving a blood trail. I think this is a good idea because if you shot someone and they were wounded and they didn't have a bandage they might try to run away. so if you want to track them down you can follow there blood trail. another cool thing about it is that if you go into a building with blood on the ground then you might think that something went down in this building. I do not know if this is already a planned thing, if it is please tell me. if it not then I thought it would be a good idea. please tell me your thoughts and if you think its a good or bad idea and why. (I am open to your opinions) I appreciate you reading my post, thank you. :) Edited January 3, 2014 by gabe2000123
Merrick362 (DayZ) 263 Posted January 3, 2014 I can't remember if this is already planned or not, so I'll give you a bump and beans. I like the idea of tracking someone like a wounded deer.
CyberVillain (DayZ) 17 Posted January 3, 2014 I can't remember if this is already planned or not, so I'll give you a bump and beans. I like the idea of tracking someone like a wounded deer. Sounds like you're a pretty crappy hunter ;)
Imbalanxd 59 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) I think there should be a blood trail even if they have bandaged. So depending on the severity of the wound (gunshot>axe>zombie hit) they would leave a blood trail for a variable amount of time after the incident. I mean sure, let them stop blood loss, but a severe wound would still seep a small amount of blood for some time after.Travelling through rugged terrain would make the trail harder to follow. Irish1972 2 Posted January 3, 2014 solid Idea.. however most likely your trail would just end abruptly as the person combat logged to avoid death

-DMG-Jonesy 226 Posted January 3, 2014 Yeah, we'd just have blood trails leading to other servers.
gabe2000123 20 Posted January 3, 2014 once they stop combat logging I think it would be a cool idea, and thanks for the feedback.
ZedsDeadBaby 2287 Posted January 3, 2014 solid Idea.. however most likely your trail would just end abruptly as the person combat logged to avoid death Pretty safe to assume that in the future logging while you're bleeding will mean coming back dead. Provided the logout timer is of reasonable length and bandaging takes a bit of time, a blood trail still definitely gives you a much better chance to track someone down before they're out of your clutches.
