robnicol96 4 Posted January 2, 2014 I just spawned near Kamy and almost instantly ran into a fully geared player. He waited behind a gas station before coming out and attempting to handcuff me and a fellow bambi who i had just greeted. The handcuffs failed on me, and he then shot (but missed) the person beside me. He then started banging on about how he wanted me to be his "packmule" and to carry his gear. I attempted to handcuff him back and he shot me, getting my two cans of spaghetti as the ultimate loot. My question is, why do fully geared players feel the need to head back to the coast, and pick on bambis? There's obviously a major risk, and you dont really get much out of it, do you?

There are a lot of players who harvest fresh spawns for their blood for the blood kits. That's the only viable reason I see, with all the different blood types it is quick and easy to hold up a new spawn and kill him when you've had your way with him :| :| Edited January 2, 2014 by mkoval

flygamer1 176 Posted January 2, 2014 My guess is once they have all gear they need there is nothing more to do. For now...
robnicol96 4 Posted January 2, 2014 hmm, good points I guess. The thing is, why do they expect anyone to help them? I really couldnt care less about losing a life i'd only had for about 5 minutes
crazyandlazy 376 Posted January 2, 2014 Killing fresh spawn means the guy is a hard noob. Either that or he is lazy and don't want to tango with other players in northern towns. The one reason where it's justifiable to kill a fresh spawn is where that spawn is a huge jerk.

Stalk them, knock their teeth out with your bare fists, take all their gear. Unless it's a group of players you should have very good success with this tactic as everyone in DayZ is Mike Tyson on the inside.
MuchHigher 65 Posted January 2, 2014 People are looking for other ways to entertain themselves. Getting gear is fairly easy once you've played a bit. So interaction with other players keeps people entertained. Easily place to find players, the coast.
Khad (DayZ) 293 Posted January 2, 2014 Im full geared on the coast right now. Because it is the only way to interact with other people without getting KoS'd ;)I don't care about the kind of interaction, but at the moment I'm playing a friendly-round and give beans to the bambis or let them just run. When i'm a new spawn i really don't care if i die
wartzilla 182 Posted January 2, 2014 Because inland there are literally no people. The best thing is to run across other geared people, but I'm not going to pretend I didn't see you because you're not geared.
Maca (DayZ) 769 Posted January 2, 2014 Sorry Op but they never left the coast in the first place, with the amount of military gear which can be looted at Bolata.

Just wondering... do you have any idea how many punches it takes to knock someone out that has a ballistic helmet on. Even with a mosin I could kill you by then or just pull my fireaxe out and kill you that way. Edited January 2, 2014 by mkoval

There's obviously a major risk, and you dont really get much out of it, do you? You literally just got done describing what was I'm sure a pretty exciting encounter for that person. Why wouldn't they come back to the coast? At some point, listening to the wind in the trees gets a little boring.
autoloon 285 Posted January 2, 2014 Not worth it for me to vampire bambis! I would rather regain blood naturally from good food and drink and not getting shot on the coast lol

I have gotten knockdowns in 1-2 hits and unconcious easily as they're trying to stand back up. It's the motorcycle helmets that you have to watch out for. Have not managed to knock out a motorcycle helmet wearer.

DevilDog (DayZ) 455 Posted January 2, 2014 Elektro is where I have played since the start, I travel up to Berenzino or over to Cherno some times as well. So I am geared and heading up the coast this morning (although I am not using rifles this life). Ran into about 12 bambis. Stopped and talked to each one. Only one said anything. The others did the penguin ('Q' and 'E'). At the factory up north I stopped to help a guy with a crow bar. As I was cleaning his wounds his buddy comes up and starts punching me. I step back and tell him to stop I am helping his friend. He keeps attacking so I have to shoot him. Then the other two guys start attacking me. I figured the hell with this and run off, they chase me. So I had to kill the second unarmed guy. The last guy with the crow bar continues to chase me. I had to shoot him also. The east coast is crazy right now, never know what will happen. It is fun for sure.

Anyone who attempted it probably didnt catch you by surprise enough or actually landa face hit. You will go down, I promise you. Have a friendly player try it if you don't believe me.

Noobs think they're Ali, but they aren't. Gotta go first person and aim for the face. It works like every freaking time. I have gotten so much gear just by mugging players who felt safe with their M4 when looking down on bambi. One guy told me to "put my hands up" as I was wailing on him. Are you kidding me? You're going down right... now. Took all his shit and executed him with his own rifle.
