    Tactical sling

Thanks, not really suggesting something overpowered like some double primary shit a-la CoD. Carrying a second primary would have a real penalty, being unable to hands-free sprint anywhere would put you at a severe disadvantage if you needed to escape.

    Tactical sling

Sometimes it is prudent to have two types of primary firearms on your person, As you probably know, right now you can actually do this, if you have one weapon on a sling on your back, you can pick up another primary firearm into your hands. This can be pretty cumbersome, a little glitchy, and risky (maybe the loot doesn't drop? Bye bye rifle) I'd like to propose the option of a tactical sling, perhaps as a wearable item, or a weapon attachment. Right now all weapons have a default built-in sling, where it's slung over your shoulder. This is fine for rifles and the like, but smaller more combat oriented arms should be able to have a CQB style sling. These can be configured many different ways but the most practical is over the shoulder, across the chest, and under the arm, with one point going to the buttstock of the rifle. This would allow you to release the weapon and it would swing to your side, your hips. This is a bit cumbersome, but would allow one to "hold" a rifle at all times, have on on your shoulder, but also allow you to go handsfree to eat, drink, melee, handcuff, or just switch to the other rifle for longer-range engagements. In the mod we used to be able to put a primary in our backpack, and swap them back and forth, certain weapons could not fit in a pack (high powered rifles, for example.) Same idea with the tactical sling, some weapons should not be able to use this sling, like the FX45 won't go in a chest holster, nothing but a small battle rifle could use a tactical sling. perhaps it would be possible to design it so that if the tactical sling is hanging (weapon dropped) the user would not be able to run, just walk. This would solve some balance issues, you wouldn't be able to just let the rifle hang, grab your long rifle, and sprint across the countryside. Another negative is that the rifle would still need to be in hands to be unencumbered, like the current situation, you can't just drop it, magically throw it on your back, and fist-sprint across the countryside. TLDR; Ideally, the tactical sling would allow you to do exactly what we're able to now, without the weapon actually dropping to the ground, it would effectively add a second "weapon slot" for a specific type of weapon, and when hands-free you would be forced to walk, no running, no sprinting. Switching to hands would be, hopefully much faster. no long animation to put the rifle on your back. This could also be useful for drawing a pistol.

Accuracy comparison: DayZ vs ARMA 2

trained marksmen vs civilians using firearms they have little/no experience with. Guns are only as accurate as their operator.

    I Liek To Kidnap Bandits

I don't care about my shit near enough to let anyone cuff me. I'll just start throwing fists. If I die, I die. Big whoop, I will have at least knocked 1 of the motherfuckers out before going down. That's always funny, hearing them yell about epi pens and bandages for their fallen comrade as I stare at a black screen before respawning. They're always so careful about shooting you when you're in their friends face throwing punches... funny thing isn't it? :p

    I Liek To Kidnap Bandits

How do you kidnap someone not willing to be kidnapped? I mean, you have to actually want to get caught in DayZ. Not me. I come with fists a swingin', You have to put me down or I will knock you the fuck out and take all your shit. Mike Tyson style.

    These stairs though..

How about some stairs you can run up, some you cannot. Also some minor grades 10-15 degrees, being forced to walk up. Okay, Arma2, I get it, you have a soldier with a 80lb load on their back, makes sense. DayZ, you are a dude with a baseball bat, maybe a rifle, some running shoes and some minor survival gear, food and water. You should be able to run up some of these hillsides and staircases. Maybe when you get enough load it forces you to walk, but when lightly loaded why the fuck can't we run up a hill. Especially when you're trying to get up there and punch a sniper in the face. Fresh spawn, maybe 2lbs in load between pants shirt and shoes and a flashlight, I am pretty sure you can run up a hillside in trainers.

Random soda, munching & zombie sounds

This crap was in the mod too. The rabbits and shit would make zombie sounds.
  8. velyse (DayZ)

    I shot 3 people yesterday.

You sound like you have a face made for punching.
  9. velyse (DayZ)

    I shot 3 people yesterday.

3 kills. "God of death" I have murdered more people with my bare fists in a single life than you have with a firearm.

    SLI/Crossfire Support

Yes, I used this force-fix workaround for SLI, but recently got a pair of 290x's and they flicker yellow with forced crossfire. Not really usable. Unfortunately it's probably AMD or BIS that has to look into that issue specifically with these cards. I don't imagine BIS wants to spend $1200 on a pair of video cards just to try it out either.

    Geared players on the coast

The idea that people need "help" in DayZ is a myth. Nobody needs help. All I need is my fists.

    Suicide rock near Kamyshovo

I think if they actually punished you for dying somehow, even as a fresh spawn, it would disincentivize a lot of things. The reason I play suicidal mike tyson is because 1: It's easy 2: it's satisfying 3: nothing to lose. I am a fresh spawn. You have an M4, full camo, medical gear, magazines with ammo, food, tons of utility tools. I have a flashlight. If I die, I just spawn and look for a new target. No skin off my back. Honestly, if you lose to me, with a fully loaded assault rifle, you deserve to have all your shit taken. Get knocked the fuck out, son. I would probably adopt a more typical playstyle if there was incentive, or disincentive to do so. Like if you repeatedly started spawning me on the wrecked ship or something for dying multiple times before picking up a single item. Spawn timer would probably do it for me. If I had to wait like 5 minutes to respawn after dying I probably would play far differently.

The fists don't stop flying until I am a corpse. I would welcome you to try.

    Geared players on the coast

Noobs think they're Ali, but they aren't. Gotta go first person and aim for the face. It works like every freaking time. I have gotten so much gear just by mugging players who felt safe with their M4 when looking down on bambi. One guy told me to "put my hands up" as I was wailing on him. Are you kidding me? You're going down right... now. Took all his shit and executed him with his own rifle.
