thebeastlyboss 0 Posted January 2, 2014 Will DayZ ever go on sale on Steam or does Bohemia not control the sale prices?

creature 1189 Posted January 2, 2014 It might be "on sale" in about another year. It's not even a full price game and you want a sale?
victusmortuus 1074 Posted January 2, 2014 how so is it on sale? It's £20 and not 30-40.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted January 2, 2014 It will be on sale once they realize not enough people have bought it.
twingunz 308 Posted January 2, 2014 how so is it on sale?Because it's being sold at a discount during alpha the price will only go up (at beta then full retail version), i imagine the full price will finish at 50-60 dollar range then 3-6 months after that you will get your saleETA: at least a year would be my guess
thebeastlyboss 0 Posted January 2, 2014 It has to be the full game price because games don't raise their prices like that, otherwise Bohemia would not be very smart for that... in fact they should lower it at full version release. I just think it's expensive for alpha I want it on sale.
Color (DayZ) 132 Posted January 2, 2014 Thought rocket said it will be more expensive as it goes.

That was a really dumb idea wasn't it, remind me how much Notch is worth now please?

I just think it's expensive for alpha I want it on sale.Yes they do, all early released games do and have (name me one pre release game that's gone down in price) it's one of the perks of buying early, you buy early you save money later, the down side is you have an incomplete buggy game that may never live up to what you hope for.Where people who wait for the full release don't have to put up with the crap and can decide on a finished product. I just think it's expensive for alpha I want it on sale. Saying that they should lower the price when it is finished is ridiculous. This game is going to be a lot larger (content wise) than your average game like Call of Duty or Battlefield. They retail at about £40 - £50. So, when this game goes final, I wouldn't even complain about spending £60+ on it. However, I feel they'll probably stick to about £40 - a very, very good price. But because I bought it in alpha, I got it for half that. How are you going to complain about getting a game for half the price you'd get it at when it comes out in a final release? I don't understand you saying it's expensive for an alpha. I mean, you get the full game still - just a little bit later. What does that give you? More play time. But saying this game should be below £20 - hell, even below £35 on final release is absolutely ridiculous.
hombrecz 832 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Will DayZ ever go on sale on Steam or does Bohemia not control the sale prices? Alpha version is the cheapest version you can get for a long time.It will get more expensive once it reaches beta and then retail, same as with Arma 3.So if you want to save money, buy it now. Btw for some weird reason I feel like you might be one of the people buying this and then yealling on forums, how incomplete it is. It will be on sale once they realize not enough people have bought it. And I thought 750K of sold copies was kinda big success given it's just unfinished alpha? Can you imagine what it will cost at Full Release?? So yea... DayZ be Dirt cheap right now... stock up and give away copies of it to everyone who owns a computer B) Edited January 2, 2014 by Dr-Shade

I just think it's expensive for alpha I want it on sale. It's thirty bucks dude. I've paid double that for games that I've played half as much. I've already got over thirty hours in to DayZ. I'd say a dollar an hour is a fair price even if I never played the game again. It will probably be 60 when it's all said and done. I'm purely basing that on their pricing model for Arma 3. DevilDog (DayZ) 455 Posted January 2, 2014 I don't understand you saying it's expensive for an alpha.I am wondering what other alpha's he is comparing it to lol. This is typical shopper behavior though and retailers know it. If it says "SALE" then it must be a good deal. This does not have a flashy "SALE" sign so it must not be a good deal.

I just think it's expensive for alpha I want it on sale. Well that's what they are doing, just like Minecraft did and Bohemia did with ArmA 3. As more content is added and the game moves into beta and full release the price will increase. Edited January 2, 2014 by SmashT
bonesnap 75 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) I imagine it will follow the same pricing scheme as Arma3 (though don't quote me on this). That would be:Alpha: $30.00Beta: $45.00Full release: $60.00 And possible sales after full release, probably not within the first 2 months though. In short, buy now to save monies.
