All this is is griefing new players.

 

Griefing new players causes them to come to the forums to irritate everyone with their whining.

 

Some learn. Most don't and quit playing.

 

Games such as EVE Online ban people who grief new players because without new blood the game goes stagnant and dies eventually. I'm not saying that would work for a game like this without a subscription, but making the game as unenjoyable for new people as you possibly can is a sure way to get them to stop playing it at which point the hunters will become the hunted. While you guys are busy slaughtering sheep there are packs of wolves out there hunting down other packs of wolves, developing actual skill with their weapons of choice. Karma is a bitch and she's going to pimp slap you kids some day.

 

 

We are separating the wheat from the chaff.  I guarantee you that there will be more people that quit this game in alpha cause they are not patient enough to wait for updates.  I would venture to say that maybe 10% of our subjects are new players, the rest are respawns irritated at where they spawned at.  The pendulum swings both ways, I understand that.  Should I fall in noble combat I will not piss, moan, cry, or get upset.  Dying happens in this game occasionally.  I will just regroup with the med division and go hunting for gear.  Still just a game :)

Spawn points aren't an issue for me, simply because I hardly ever have to respawn. Thats because I know how to survive. What the hell are the rest of you

The rather limited and localized area in which players now spawn lead to a big day for the Medical Division. 55 exterminations.

This was the scene when the server restarted, and a lot is left out:

I don't understand why people are mad. All of these deaths were mercy kills. If they had let them live, 90% of them would probably try to knock them out, get their gun, and go ham on the rest of the division. If not, they'd find the nearest rock to climb on and we all know what happens when you do that in DayZ.

Almost every single one of those people would have probably killed themselves to get the Elektro spawn, loot Elektro, then run straight to Balota and server hop some 30 times to get an M4. At least this way, even if those players do quit, we will be left with REAL players. Not players that will keep killing themselves until they get a desired spawn point because they want an M4 10 minutes in their life. Those real players would spawn and just accept the location, or just run for 30 minutes to get to a base.

I for one, fully support the medical division, and hope they succeed in their goal. When cooking is implemented and it turns out you can burn food, I hope they test the effects of consuming burned food.

Yawn, pathetic strawman from a lacking mind.  It's not about spawning and being auto full gear, it's about having things to do during your 40 minute run towards full gear before they make the run 40 minutes long.  Currently it's just a timesink running simulator where you do absolutely nothing of real value in terms of character progression from spawn to full gear.  There's no heli crashes to find, no vehicles to repair, no tents, random events, nothing.  It's just running towards military loot with small towns which have nothing of value along the way.

 

Before you make people run 40 minutes towards the endgame, you should have some content of value in there between the two.

The pants were taken and placed beside the body after extermination.  Different members of the division brutalized the bodies for bleeding experiments.  They were left like that as a warning to others.

Thank you for the kind words.  You have my beans.  Once cooking and cannibalism is implemented we plan of fully researching the effects of feeding people human flesh, even if it is their own.

I've played DayZ since June 2012 and have ZERO kills ever. The closest I've even come to it is once I was running from zombies with no Melee weapon and ran past a player with broken legs who became zombie fodder.
