SalamanderAnder (DayZ) 1747 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Being reset to a location after running for a while was a bug prior to this patch. I can also confirm that. As was gun inaccuracy, as was desync. Spawns are random so that also probably has nothing to do with the patch. Sooo... Yeah... Actually after the patch I noticed one change. Backpacks and containers are much easier to move around from inventory to ground and such. Very responsive. I was able to lay down a backpack inside my equipped backpack multiple times with no hassle or wait. It was basically instantaneous. Don't know if that was an intended fix or not, but it happened. Hard to judge anything now, since there are 2 rifles and 2 pistols currently in the game.Anyway I also was kinda surprised to find out, there are like 12 barracks on the whole map.Namely those in Balota and north of Kamenka seem kinda questionable to me, more so when AC tower and "camo" building are spawning military loot and there are also tents. But maybe they will adjust loot of specific barracks and once zombies are fixed, they might roam in larger quantities around these barracks, to make it harder for fresh spawns to loot. You don't need a gun to survive in DayZ but they're so common that it promotes PvP, They should be a luxury item like a car in vanilla mod.If I wanted to get my PvP fix I would play Wasteland not DayZ. Lancer 2-2 14 Posted January 1, 2014 Just remove all western military grade weapons and gadgets from the game and only have them spawn on rare helicopter crash sites. Add in more eastern style military grade weapons at military locations (remove any barracks and prevent any military weapons on the coast). Add in more common civilian grade weapons along with farming and the occasional police grade weapons scattered around residential, official, farm locations with some hunting rifles found in the hunting towers. That way people have more locations to search. After patch 2 fixed the food spawn problems on the coast people generally seem to stay there, especially people who just want to kill the new spawns. I have been living in the North and centre of the map and so far I have heard gunshots from someone shooting zombies but could not find the player... I have so far not actually seen anyone even after a visit to the NWAF on a high pop server. We need to make the rest of the map attractive for people to explore, these strange locations like castles could becomes interesting locations, military bases rarer to find and hotter locations to explore... but also when the ability to erect our own tents and build fences again are put in this will make make people go to all corners of the map searching for camps and good hiding places. Not to mention there are at least two castles on the vanilla map which could be awesome to explore. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
