Shhh...don't complain too much, the "bandit" crowd will whine that you are ruining their fun. I'm not talking about the ones who rob you, I'm talking about the people who play this game like its battlefield 4 or cod. You know the ones armed to the teeth that think they are making the game what it is by destroying everyone and everything in sight, new spawn or not

Ok so! Not one person on my friend list owns this game and every single person in the server seems to only have 1 intention and that is to kill everyone on sight or turn them into a force feeding joke.. >.<

 

This happening to anyone else?....  I have 13+ hours of play already and havent found one friendly person.

 

It really makes the game boring knowing i need to avoid survivors at all cost... Been killed multiple times with nothing but a flashlight on me.. Literally no reason to kill me. :'(

It´s all about how YOU play. I get KOS one time. I get one time robbed and suvived. I had 10 or more friendly interaction.

The most important is to be the one that is not surprised. This was happened to me I get robbed. Shouting "friendly" is not enough. (I never use the word friendy, I start a conservation both partys get benifits from, like talking to a old friend.

Interact with them by telleing them next water source and tell them where you come from. This city is looted... etc.

It´s all about how YOU play.

I agree, starting a conversation with out calling out friendly is much more promising. Of course it needs to be obvious that you don't want to kill them.

I've killed many and I was killed by many. But I do have a Code that I follow:

 

1) If someone aims his gun at me, I shoot.

2) If I surprise someone, I always give them a chance to surrender

3) If someone is unarmed and runs, I let them run.

4) If someone is armed and runs, I shoot them - I can't allow them to shoot my back later.

5) If I need anything (food, drink, tools) I ask for it.

6) If you don't own anything of use to me, you are free to go.

7) If you have listened nicely to all my commands, you can get some food and drinks from my stock. And, of cource, you are free to go.

8) You don't listen to me, I warn you. Once. The second is a warning shot to your head.

 

I'm sure many of my "victims" thought I randomly KoSed them. No, I didn't. I just care - above all - for my own security. I have never shot a dude without giving him a chance. I died a couple of times already, when another survivor tried to fight instead of comply. But this is a price of being Mr Nice Guy.

 

Guys - the thing is, don't assume that if someone shot you, he's always a dickhead. Think about your behaviour. Today I stopped a guy who bumped at me in a building I was looting. He was a bambi. I told him to show me his hands and stop. Instead he rushed at me with his fists. I had to kill him, and I didn't want to. Play as this is your only life, no respawns. It's more fun if you actually care if you live or die.

I kill only player after they attacked me.

Killing is so boring. Human interaction is fun. I like the roleplay part most in dayz.  ;)

Yes, this game is not cod, but many people just play to kill kill kill.......it's a little bit boring because there is no paranoïa anymore....

 

I am often friendly, and others are too, but it's about 30 % of people, I think...

Ok... So the only option is to buy another copy for someone thats not going to kill me? lol

... how is it boring?  It's realistic.  I don't know how long you've been on this planet but I'm pretty sure that if there was a zombie apocalypse that most people would SOS.  People suck most of the time.  This is a game.  You can't be nice and loving and hope to change the environment like in real life.  It's challenging to avoid real people.  Derp.  Play or don't.

I've met about 5 people, all friendly so far.
