RULE 1- Don't get attached to your gear

Recommended Posts

Hello there

Whilst Hets' has his own "individual" way of getting a point across, he is correct.

In this test phase Wipes are bound to happen.

Dont get attached.

Not much to get attached to at the moment. I love the modularity of weapons but you can't really say the options are all that great.

Plus given the fact that almost all the military balance is in the exact same corridor of the map and people basically just ghost in and out of server to server at one of those locations..theres never much good left over to get your hands on anyways.

Only thing I ever get attached to is a cooking pot, a gas cooker and a canteen...cause one of these days I actually want to cook a meal but I never seem to be able to have all the required components at once.

I get bored once i'm fully geared and tend to try and die... exploring and gearing up is more fun

I was attached.

But I guess I can get over it.

Would've liked to have shot my Mosin though.

At this phase of the game, the only point is to stress test network stability and solve issues that are generated with large amounts of players on servers; which is why bodies of zombies hide automatically and loot is very limited.

As I can see it, we should only play for the experience of the game at it's basic functionality so gathering all the gear is good only for testing purposes to see how it functions and make use of the bug feedback system. :)

I only get attached to one item and one item only. A Map.

I think DayZ needs to take a note from Breaking point. Maps should spawn very frequently. People have maps makes the game more new player friendly and helps facilitate group play as spawning is random.

Plz make map spawns just as frequent as those motorbike helms

Through some kind of sorcery I appear to be the only person who still has their char. #SWEG

Lol, yeah, it's very "easy" to not get attatched to your gear, one thing is to die and not get it back another is to think about the snotty little brat who shot you and is probably now wearing your gear. So telling people to not get attatched is like telling people to quit smoking in 2 seconds.

I learned that ignoring high end loot is the best way to go, do not pick it up, destroy it so no one else gets it, even hunt it and destroy it. Then keep to bad guns and melee weapons, if you die then it's like okay, i'll start again then. If you get military hardware you are likely to become a combatlogger and utterly paranoid. So rule number 1 stands true, but it is hard to follow, and those who somehow magically don't get attatched to military awsome gear, they are not human.

#5 Do not hoard loot you do not want anyone else to have, destroy it. (put it on a dead zombie or player and "hide body")

This rule works for me, makes the chance of someone else picking up a weapon to be used on me less in my proximity, though i never hide water and food, just ammo and weapons, i ignore melee weapons, if someone can get close to me and kill me melee, i deserved it.
