martink8190@gmail.com 149 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned but I'm having a nightmare with DayZ Standalone... The game appears to load and play great but i cannot get more than 10-15 mins of play time before the game freezes and locks up my entire PC forcing me to do a hard restart. I've tried altering the settings in game (all low / high) as well as made some recommended changes in the DayZ.cfg - however nothing seems to make a difference. I am so gutted that iv paid to get access to the alpha (and yes, I am aware it was at my own risk) but more than the cash I just REALLY want to play the damn game.... I've listed my set-up below so if anybody can shed some light on why this is happening and if there is anything i can do to remedy it I would be most grateful. I have been told I should not have any problems running this game, but alas I am..... Desktop PCMonitor Res : 1920x1080 (Samsung TV)OS : Windows 7 Premium 64-bitProcessor : AMD FX-8150 Eight-Core 3.60 GHzGraphics Card : 2 x AMD Radeon HD7900 (CrossFire'd)RAM : 16GBSSD : Yes Please Help!! You PC should run this seamlessly with the above specs, so I guess all whats left is that you may have a hardware issue/s. First of all check and re check if ALL cables are properly inserted, especially GFX.Make sure that you have bit of an thermal paste between your CPU and CPU cooler and that the cpu cooler is properly and firmly holding in place.Check your CPU and GFX temperatures using cpu-z or similar utility. Providing you have sufficient, quality power supply from somewhat known manufacturer we can eliminate the PSU and the problem Could be faulty RAM - try one stick of ram at the time to eliminate faulty RAM ( somewhat common ) VCheck mem test +86 or similar stress test utility I'd be surprised if the problem didn't reveal itself after the steps taken as above I currently have these specs.Graphics: gtx 760CPU: Intel Core i3-3220Memory: 8GBIs it possible to run dayz at low to very low setting with these specs?I'm hoping to run atleast a smooth 30-40 fps. Should run well outside of towns but you may struggle in big cities. Shouldn't be too bad Please I am in a hurry and I need an advice a soon as possible. I don't believe that A5 amd apu is capable of running the game at all Edited February 25, 2014 by Colonel-Wicked

Atleast, can it run the game at low settings? Sorry for all the questions I just really want the game. You might be able to if you play at laptop resolution of 1280 x 720 or lower, with clouds and shadows disabled. Some settings are CPU heavy and some are GFX, search for threads on how to tweak the settings or similar and see if you can upgrade your GFX card to at least aforementioned HD 7770 or better. You're welcome

blissfulkunt 196 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Just wondering what a cheap recommended upgrade for my GPU would be, I current have a Nvidia Geforce GT220 1024mb.. only have about 100$ish to spend. Currently the game actually runs fine, I even have object detail set to normal, but wouldnt mind an increase in overall detail/performace. Thanks in advance. wolftheneko 0 Posted February 26, 2014 is it possible to play day z at a decent quality and decent fps with these specs? resolution is 1768x992windows 7Processor : AMD phenom 2 quad-core 3.00 ghzgraphics car: Evaga 550 titotal ram: 8 gbavailable: 4.76gb?please someone let me know i really want to buy the game but worried of spending money on something i cant play
hegysk 1 Posted February 26, 2014 I have one answer: the game is atm so unoptimised I don't believe that even highend rig can boast of "decent fps".Okay, let's say I have maybe lower-midrange desktop with logical 6-core 4.76 GHz CPU, 8 gigs of RAM and HD7790 1GB also OC'd.I achieved perfect results in other games, hovewer, on mid-low settings in DayZ SA I get terrible results mainly in cities and bigger buildings it's 15-20fps (which are playable anyways) but atleast I got disapointed. Now, I get used to this and I don't feel it's not smooth or something but when you play CS:GO on 300-450fps and then you go instantly to DayZ you feel like you play on gameboy advance :)+ On my laptop which si let's say in benchmark measures like 3-5 times weaker I achieve +/- the same results.+ Friend of mine, with older lowerend Desktop is somehow getting better results than me (we used to play CS:GO together and I know best his PC could do was like 150fps) In SUM: we have to wait for optimalisations and I think FPS output of the game is not dependant on system power overall but in some better/worse compatibility issues within every kind of hardware. It is absolutely dependant on system power. 4 very fast physical CPU cores gives the best results with RV Engine games.

terminal_boy 860 Posted March 1, 2014 That'll play DayZ very nicely on High to Very High. Ramping up AA will still drag the frame rate down rapidly though. Expect 30-40 FPS in cities. Until someone plays DayZ on a Cray 2 or similar, no-one gets gets better than this with Details and Textures turned up at 1920 x 1080.
