Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Desktop

Monitor resolution:        1920X1080

Motherboard:                ASUS Sabertooth Z77 1155 Socket
CPU:                             i7 2600k @ 4.6ghz / H100i watercooled
Graphics card:              EVGA 660ti SC 2GB x2 SLI (Though I can't figure out how to get the game to support SLI)
RAM:*                          16GB @ 1600 Corsair Vengeance
SSD? (Yes/No)              No SSD just a single TB WD 7200

PSU:                             1000w Kingston

Been running the game since launch with only small issues, one is FPS obviously, most have been having this issue as well. I was hoping someone would be able to tell me how to get the SA to support SLI so I can run the settings my computer should be able to run. I know it is alpha, so its not that pressing, but hey, if it can be done, I would like to do it.

Thanks guys

Huge waste of money, are you sure you need another laptop? I mean you could just buy decent rig and use old laptop if you really need laptop...

I'm currently running an Acer Aspire 8930g, C2D 2.0, 4GB RAM 9600m GT. This wont run DayZ at the moment. I really do need the portability but I would only get the laptop if I could play in high settings and it would be future proof for the next few years. I wont be upgrading for a couple of months yet so I'll still be doing some research and shopping around.

Hi. I'm thinking of upgrading to a better lap. This is the one I have in mind -

http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/?sb=:00000037:00001CBD:

I would have the none SLi version and I would upgrade the HDD. Has anyone played the standalone on this laptop or know how high settings I could use?

Merged.

Hi, my friend was getting dayz standalone and I was wondering if I can run it. I know about the minimum requirements but I'm just below them, here's my specs;

Laptop: acer aspire 5750

Intelcore i5 processor

Intel HD graphics 3000

8GB memory

500GB memory

I was woundering if I would still be able to play with Intel hd 3000, thanks for all the help!

It will run but very badly.

I have a Core2Quad Q8400 (2.8Ghz) and a Radeon 6950 2GB

I get like 10-15fps or something.

I had to reduce my resolution and it's still pretty unplayable in towns.

/

I have no idea why the renderer is so bad

It's like it is drawing the entire island each frame

Why is the View Distance option missing in Options

/

Thank god i'm building a new PC next week.

I feel sorry for 90% of the world though, who will get about 5FPS and can't play Day Z.

You can prolly save more money with this build. Cheers!

Is this a notebook? Well, the processor's frequency is very low, even clocking it should have no visible improvements sadly.

Hello.

I would like to ask, if i could have a smooth gaming experience in standalone?

Specs:

AMD A6-3420M APU

3gb ram

AMD Radeon HD 7670M

Should this be enough to get about 30fps in cities, and about 40 in countryside?

merging

It will probably run, but probably will get like 15 fps in cities.  I'd go with an i5, you can get a 3350p for a few extra bucks and it will make a huge difference.  Also for the video card you should look at a 270x or 280x.  They are newer versions of he 7xxx series, but they are cheaper and have higher clock speeds. Also I personally don't like how cramped micro atx motherboards are.  Unless you're going for a small case, but a mid tower will house a full sized motherboard.  This is personal taste of course. You should really shell out more on RAM, it's not something you want to skimp on, I'd get 2x3gb or 2x4gb.  4GB is kind of low in this day and age, especially because Dayz will hog a lot.  Get a 600w power supply at least too.

Can I run it? Well, I checked the site thusly named, and it said everything met the recommended settings except for the processor and GPU. They are as follows:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series

The CPU has the same processor speed as the recommended Phenom II x4 (3.0 quad-core)

And the GPU has the same RAM (1GB) and pixel/vertex shaders as the recommended GPU (5.0)

My question is will these slight shortcomings make an appreciable difference while playing the game? What settings could I expect to run it on smoothly? Thanks.

Dang, I really wanted to play it.

It is very playable and still great looking on low. Just because you can't jack up the settings should not deter you from getting the game.

Do you think the framerate would be steady? Also, which is holding me back more, the CPU or GPU?
