First Player Encounter in DayZ

So, after an hour or two of carefully looting the new cherno sections, im pretty well geared except i have no ammo for my main gun, but anyways,  i see flashing lights in a nearby garage, and do my best to avoid them. I head into the new building thats in the middle of town across from the hospital, im not sure what its called but as im looting that, i head up the ladder to the roof only to see two people staring at me. I panicked immediately and typed out "Friendly" as fast as i could. To my ultimate suprise, they respond friendly over voice, it was a huge relief. Is humanity restored? Is KOS no longer the only thing to do? Lets hope so.....

I had an awesome encounter with 4 guys in Kamenka. We ran to Cherno but got split up by bandits. Very emotional why I died and told them to go on without me. Loving it so far.

First guy I met tried to sneak up behind me with a shovel. I turned around just in time to see him. He started singing that song from star trek when Kirk and Spock fight. luckily I had a baseball bat and managed to take him out. Still though, no need!

First guy I encountered I was in a radio tower..he saluted...I said no worries man move on..

 

Second guy...I was in a barn he saw me, backed up, said im leaving man don't kill me...I said no problem...

 

Third guy I saw at airstrip also saw me kept going..

 

Fourth guy saw me in airstrip and proceeded to shoot me for no reason..

 

Fifth guy I ran into barn, he charges screaming saying you ran into the wrong barn! and kills me with shovel....

 

Some good, some bad...Better than mod so far tho.

So far all bad..

 

First guy, we both had nothing, spawned in a very well looted town.. he proceeded to punch me to death.

Second guy, hit me with a wrench. after I waved hello.

 

Third guy saved me from a Z, then ran around town with me looting until I went to take a drink.. WHAM, hit me with an AXE that I  gave him.

 

Nobody is responding to direct com chat (typing). and everyone is murdering me.

 

This is my first day in the game.. still enjoying it.

First time player here (meaning no mod exp).  My first player encounter was on one of the US West servers.  I actually forgot to "create" my character before joining, so I was looking for a way to off myself.  I figured I'd just run until I passed out, then click respawn.   No idea how long I ran, but I found a road and followed it over to a town.  I could see a flashlight off in the distance, so I equipped mine and toggled it on and off a few times.  I heard him say over voice chat "Hey, I see someone" then something else, not sure what it was though.  He came over, I told him over voice chat my situation and asked him to kill me, but he said "hold on, I can't really hear you from where I am, you're really quiet".  I repeated, and he said quite shocked "You want me to kill you?!" then "Hold on, this guy wants me to kill him" lol.  He pulled out his axe, missed me for around 15 seconds XD Then was like "Am I hitting you? You sure you want me to kill you?"  I was like "Nope, you're missing me, and yeah, I don't have anything, I just want to update my player model before I go looting hahaha".  Then a solid thump on the head later, I have my new character :)

First I got punched out as soon as I spawned in.  Second encounter I saved a guy from a zombie with my axe, he then proceeded to try and kill me.  Try.

 

Third I spot someone in a barn, walk right up to them as if they're frozen in headlights.  I wave, they wave and then run like the wind out the back of the barn lol.

 

Overall I'd say it's better than the mod so far, mostly though I think that's because people haven't got weapons or friends with weapons yet.

First: Tries to murder me with Hammer. I Responded with my Pistol

 

Secound: Stares at me with Mosin from an Apartment, but holds his fire

 

Third: sees me Outside Balota, Runs

 

Fourth: 2 Guys with M4 and Pistol in the woods near kozlovka. They saw me, Waved, and kept Walking

 

So yes. Much better. In the Mod those Guys with the M4 and the Mosin guy would have surely Popped me. Overall better, for now.

Wanna know my first player interaction? I approach fire station in Cherno. I see dead body. I enter fire station. Man walks in behind me and strike me with an axe, at which point I'm like, "no way bro" and I quickly side stepped his attack, dealing massive damage to the back of his head with my pristine  worn firefighters axe. Then, two more people came inside, at which point I ran for my life.

 

So the answer is no. KoS is still completely the norm. Taste my steel, douchebags.

Two dudes literally ganging up on me with axes, trying to KoS me. As I predicted things would be.

 

I simply ran around a barn in circles until they lost me. They were pretty stupid.

A man saw me looking at pants, tried to axe me, my motorcycle helmet stopped the blow and I ran away like a bitch because all I had was my flashlight and sweet rocket aviators.

 

P.S. I later found a pistol and holster and killed what I assume was him and proceeded to steal his pants and then went unconscious because the text system sucks.

1st encounter was in cherno after a new spawn. I had nothing and ran past a guy who then tried to get me to come to him. Well I ran away and he chased me through cherno with a knife! until I jumped into the water and swam to safely :)

Met a guy just southwest of Cherno at the airfield. He said I was the first one he had seen with a microphone and he was the first person I had seen in the game.

 

3 other people joined up out of no where, all friendly. So we set off and explored those massive apartments that were in the Rocket stream while talking about how cool the game was. The first 4 people I met in game and they were all friendly.

 

One guy was bleeding so I ran over and bandaged him. Did the same for a 6th person we picked up on the way.

 

Sadly the server crashed right after running around the apartments for a while. I would have liked to have kept playing with them.

 

 

Launch is always best. Hacks aren't created yet and everyone is nice because they are still learning controls and stuff.

Let's remeber at this point most players lack weapons outside maybe a melee weapon or a small arm with a few precious shots.  Even then, in my experience most people I've met are totally unarmed. Given loot table tweaks, spawn locations discovered and so own, the murder and blood will flow again soon.

 

The third player I encountered shot me in the back absolutely screaming at me over voice. "DIE MOTHER FUCKER, EAT IT, EAT IT, I DESTROYED YOU." Then 20 minutes later the same guy I heard saying "fuck, 2 hours in this game and I already want to cheat" he sounded like him and his buddy were trying different scripts to get hacks going.

 

So my faith isn't exactly restored yet.

I see player. He backs away quietly. I follow him screaming, "Do you have a can opener?"

 

I continue to follow him. I don't think he knew how direct chat works. He turns, we stare at each other. I have a mosin in my hand. He pulls out a gun and shoots me like seven times.

 

Damn it. I really needed a can opener.

I think can openers are more rare then uranium. 

 

Also KOS is gone for 2 to 4 weeks, after that things will return to what it used to be, enjoy it while it lasts.

Spawned in Kamenka, ran towards the town trying to figure out the controls when I got charged by a crazy bitch trying to fist fight me. She chased me through the whole town until I saw another player up ahead and asked for help over VON, He then pulled out a crowbar and started running towards the crazy bitch, she then turned 180* and ran with a sandwich between her legs. Didn't see her after that.

 

Encountered 13 players so far, 10 were friendly and 2 even helped me. So my faith in humanity has been a little restored

ATM I'm armed to the teeth with an M4, so when I meet other players, I approach them with my gun lowered and ask if they need anything, if they try to pull something I just aim my M4 at them and they usually surrender.

Haven't killed anyone yet, and hope I never have to.

Most people who I've bumped into have been friendly. I only killed 1 person after I saw him blast a dude from behind, started smashing his skull in with an axe while he was looking looting. Only 1 guy who tried killing me without saying anything, although he was a terrible shot so I just made fun of his aim while running in circles for a bit before leaving.

I might of accidentally murdered a guy with my hatchet. I'm not entirely sure because I thought I was hitting a zombie but it might of been him. I ran outside and found a dead guy right by the door then ran back inside to find no zombie. It was bizarre to say the least and possibly a coincidence. Maybe he fell victim to the unconsciousness thing like I recently did.

So far I ve met only one player. Well saw as he did not know I was there. Watched him through the iron sights of my M4A1 and decided not to shoot as he was pretty much harmless guy with a torch looking for supplies. I am yet to see "KOS" encounter but id rather help people like opening their cans or provide them with supplies.

I spawned near Cherno and found an axe.  While I was looting one of the new buildings north of the docks, seemed similar to the school but larger, I noticed a flashlight moving around.  As he came around the corner I said, "Friendly, dude!" and ran past him but the stairs down were blocked by a zombie so I had to go up.  I ended up on the roof and listened while he fired some shots, I assume at zombies, and waited him out.  He eventually came up to the lower roof and looked around a bit then left.  After that I left and ran northeast to meet a buddy and we came across another player at a barn that was a fresh spawn.  We looked at him, he looked at us with our axe and pipe wrench, and we went our separate ways.
