rooniedoo 68 Posted November 28, 2013 The feeling of being new is one of the best feeling's I've ever experienced, most games cater to new players with tutorials and such while dayz is just like FUCK THAT! and throws you into the game with you having no Idea on what the fuck to do while bullets are flying past you and you have no way to defend your self but running away . It's a exhilarating experience that only few games have these days. So I hope SA will be bringing back that feeling
alphax 99 Posted November 28, 2013 I think the SA can't re-create the first-time feeling, as it isn't the first time, but it will create a total new feeling as new gameplay aspects get added.
supermarco 64 Posted November 28, 2013 It will let you feel the fresh air between your leg when you will have no pant because you had to use it for a bandade.
callsignBravo (DayZ) 323 Posted November 28, 2013 i think it will to some extent, like it is a new game with new systems and a few new controls, people won't know what others will do because Kos will hopefully b reduced, and more people will want to survive and try to live out the first life, it will sort of be a new experience. IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted November 28, 2013 Id have to say you'd need to be a total virgin to get that Fresh Off the Beach feeling. Standalone won't recapture that, not completely anyway. It would be more like playing without patch notes, 'What the hell is this bible for?' You'll still have an idea of what you need, where you need to go, and what you have to do. If anything it'll be like your 10th time playing, 'okay I need to find an ax, oh sweet, found a kitchen knife!'
Korsbaek 1778 Posted November 28, 2013 It won't give the same feeling as the first time, but I'm sure it will be close. There are lots of new buildings to explore :D
kichilron 8550 Posted November 28, 2013 You have seen a lot of things in the mod already and as it will still be Chernarus I don't think the feeling will ever be the same.Part of my experience was not knowing what is going on and the possibility to die nto stupid things like glitches or unnecessary stupidity.Yes, the map will be changed, but you will be easily get used to thew new stuff, as the basic layout will still be the same. That being said I am still lookijg forward to it, as it will offer us new mechanics we have never seen before and new things to discover. But I don't think it can bring back the "WTF is going"-feeling of the very first time playijg it.
Ken Bean 175 Posted November 28, 2013 Depends, maybe the map of Chernarus will be a little too known for providing a first time experience. But on the other hand, they changed a lot, like Items, houses, loot systems, weather and so on... There's sth new to discover. However, I hope they changed the map a bit and/or provide more maps in the future.
Siberian (DayZ) 527 Posted November 29, 2013 i tink you'll see about 2 weeks worth of "ohhh new n shiny"... before lowest common form of KoS returns in full force and ruins 18months of dev. time in a blink of an eye.
