pinapple900 8 Posted November 6, 2013 Everything else (blood, hunger, etc) resets on death. Why not humanity points?
Guest Posted November 6, 2013 Once a bandit, always a bandit. Heroes live on, even in the reflection of others
Korsbaek 1778 Posted November 6, 2013 I think it should reset too. When you die you start a new character.
fluxley 2228 Posted November 6, 2013 If they reset it it would pretty much defeat the whole point of the humanity system.
Bludy 324 Posted November 6, 2013 i like keeping humanity. bandits have their life easier in a mid/high end phase of the game, since they have more loot from victims in theory.let heroes have the benefit of being trusted from the random surivor, at least when unarmed in cherno. As lovely and dandy as that sounds, I doubt many people even know how a hero skin looks like these days(given that all the people I've met so far have mostly been bandits) and plenty of them just panic and shoot people, of course some are decent. As for the topic, I disagree because some people like to work for their humanity, bandit or hero. I personally love the bandit skin and thus I want to have low- humanity :p
Korsbaek 1778 Posted November 6, 2013 But the point is that if you die, your character dies. You have to start from the bottom again.I understand how much it would suck for a hero to have to start over again, but he's starting a new character. Therefore he must start over completely. Bludy 324 Posted November 6, 2013 yeah sure, but it's quite harder becoming a hero than a bandit!

AP_Norris 1018 Posted November 6, 2013 I think... It should take a certain amount of swerve back wow arms survivor. But, I can bet no hero wants to be reset everytime some DB asking for a blood transfusion over sidechat decides to shoot you in the head while you have a lowered gun. That's probably happened to almost everybody IMO, after that most people just change completely though it's really sad that most people ain't got the patience to meet a good player before continuing the bandit KOS trend. But like you say if they wanna have a go they should be able to change back to a survivor more quickly.Maybe two lives without a kill and your a survivor. Two lives with no blood bagging as a hero and you're back to a survivor. Well something similar happaned to a friend after he tried to trust other players more since a couple of them tried to cooperate with other players on the server. Since i knew which server most of those players came from ( a KoS server ) i had my doubts about them and kept my distance and never showed my back ( always got in last and got out first and was always to be found in the back of the group ). When the group started to get bigger 4+ i took my leave. He didn't and was "shot by accident" twice. At least he learned his lesson not to trust other players 100% unless they are in the same ts channel although there were exceptions. And i never died through another player yet and killed a bandit so far, only died from my own stupidity ( accident or glitch ) Edited November 6, 2013 by Enforcer
TheCreeper (DayZ) 3565 Posted November 6, 2013 On public hive I have over 48k humanity, I worked my ass off for that, not going to lose all my hard work and good deeds because some CoD kid finds a weapon and thinks it would be awesome to kill me. In short, NO!

OfficerRaymond 2064 Posted November 17, 2013 Why so? In theory you have a new life so why not start at zero like everything else does?Well, then you'd spawn in as a survivor and nobody would have an idea of whether or not to trust you.
todd10k 87 Posted November 20, 2013 I'll weigh in on this: I think if you're a bandit you should spawn as a bandit, but within a few points of the threshold to turn into a survivor. So, if you so choose it, you can more easily change your ways, but you're still fodder for survivors and heroes till you make that change. I think people should have the choice to be good if they can help it. Everyone has it within them to change themselves for the better, and i believe that everyone deserves that chance.
Karmaterror 982 Posted November 22, 2013 A big part of me agrees that it should reset. Like OP says its a new toon, and should be a fresh start. However....we need something to work for that's global. Something we will always have no matter how many deaths we go trough. Otherwise it would feel a little arcade-y. Its a lot esier (imo anyways) to become a bandit than a hero. So its a good way to identify the cod kids. The only problem when dealing with bigger groups is they can be bandits trough and trough....yet all have hero skin. Because they just spend 30 mins before going out letting zeds hit em and giving blood. This is something I think someone needs to come up with a solution for. Snowly10 1 Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) Maybe time spending with other players in range increases it? Edited November 23, 2013 by Snowly10
doublebrain 255 Posted November 24, 2013 Blood and hunger..? Well blood and hunger is completly different from humanity because hunger= starvation (dead), no blood= dead... humanity= shows how you play DayZ and gives a benifit to new spawned heros and a disadvantage to new spawned banits because everyone knows instantly whats your way to play DayZ. And THATS the point of the humanity system in DayZ. So.. yea your idea would pretty much make humanity needless.
