kumando 199 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Items floating 10cm above their spawn points and axes having firing sound effects. Golly gosh, how EVER are we EVER going to play this!? Could you imagine, playing the game and then BAM! you have a terrifying flashback of those items just floating there, whilst you're raiding cherno and shooting zombies. I just couldnt play with that in my mind, i dont even know how my character could walk or fire after seeing that footage. I would play it, lol but most people would bitch about it. rossums 2190 Posted November 18, 2013 Considering it's REALLY early, I am thinking it may be habbening. It's most likely the test that tests the stability or whatever... Maybe a little habbening...You are aware that testers come from all over the world, right? It might be early for you but not everyone else.
iGore 40 Posted November 18, 2013 You are aware that testers come from all over the world, right? It might be early for you but not everyone else. I know, but I've never seen a test at this time of day (Where I am) aka 6:00 AM Usually their noon-4pm my time
rossums 2190 Posted November 18, 2013 I know, but I've never seen a test at this time of day (Where I am) aka 6:00 AM Usually their noon-4pm my timeThe testing is pretty much ongoing - the only difference is that the server is obviously down more often at this time since this is when the developers can properly work on it.Most of the bigger tests do tend to be later though - that's mainly because it's prime time for Europe where a lot of the testers (and developers) are based but also provides a decent connection to those based in America and the Aussies too. dgeesio 1034 Posted November 18, 2013 HAHA! The only person who gets hurt by delays is Dean Hall. Calling it "vaporware" and making up release conspiracies is totally pointless. This is his livelihood. Besides, I don't think Dean has that much control over the project. It's not like the team is going to give him DayZ and then he's just gonna sit on it. Do you think the producer would be okay with that? Or the other developers? Fuck no. They all want to get this thing done as quickly as possible. He isn't making the game single-handedly, you know. It's not like Dean is just sitting at the top of some high rise office building in Prague playing the DayZ standalone all by himself, just laughing at us. Absurd. Just have some patience people.its not his project its BI project.
HumanBeing25 299 Posted November 18, 2013 I promise the world on this day that, if DayZ SA releases, no more masturbation; it's time to finally go find a partner!
Tempus (DayZ) 1062 Posted November 18, 2013 its not his project its BI project. Exactly, that's why SalamanderAnder stated in your quote Rocket couldn't single-handedly delay Alpha release, even if he wanted to. If you are referring to his first sentences, I think he meant something like this: Nobody is more impatient to release it. I want my life back, and releasing the alpha will start that. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1qrkov/to_the_dev_team_losing_our_patience_not_a_moaning/
SFRGaming 718 Posted November 18, 2013 Steam Database just read 15 active players playing 6 minutes ago. We are slowly getting there. Once we get around 20-30 players with a session being over 1-2 hours with no crashes, then I think Dean may release it. So far we have seen 29 people on the server but the playtime wasn't long. Dean has gotten the server to actually accept that many people into the log-in, now he just has to make it stable with those people.

Or at least that's the number he's quoting!
MarmaladeChainsaw 42 Posted November 18, 2013 Doesn't steamdb count the DEVS that are running the client too.
terrvik 2409 Posted November 18, 2013 If most melee weapons now use rays and yadda yadda technical mumbo jumbo colliding with geometry does this mean melee weapons will collide with eachother? That would be amazing, blocking a melee attack by attacking back yourself. If only there would be ways to put different amount of force or choose which direction to swing (maybe with WASD in combination with the mouse) melee fights could be amazingly tense! Aporis 422 Posted November 18, 2013 Now 0 players on the server, seems like they are tweaking some stuff probs. Today or Tomorrow have high chance of habbening. The chapter of this morning is over, lets wait for the evening.
Elo 44 Posted November 18, 2013 You don't organize a 20 player test and then cancel the whole thing because you want to tweak something Something broke or it became obvious very quickly that something is not properly working yet
MarmaladeChainsaw 42 Posted November 18, 2013 There is no test... Steamdb is just counting the people at bohemia that have the client open...
Elo 44 Posted November 18, 2013 Right. It just so happened that 20 people coincidentally opened their client at the same time
Owain1122 218 Posted November 18, 2013 Look seriously I don't know why people keep getting their hopes up, It's obvious something keeps breaking that they are struggling to fix because every time they hit a high player count, it quickly drops. That's not something you can fix in a day in my opinion.
