i beleive rocket did say he had been influenced by space station 13. This is an obvious nod in ss13 direction along with the restraining of players..

 

No idea how restraining will work in dayz but in ss13  players remained ingame even when logged out so if you was handcuffed you had to break the cuffs or wait for someone to uncuff you. Not really a good idea having accounts perma logged in in dayz though.

 

ss13 is one of the best games i have played in recent years and im glad rocket gives it recognition.

 

But dayz for sure needs a 20second logout timer or something, so you cant insta log. cant remember if the mod got that feature eventually or not.

I don't even know what to say now. Your friend should make a post like this, I'm trying to think other people here, was just wondering if it would touch anyone, apparently not. Cancer is a thing that will always be around and is not picking victims its horrible, I know. My Cousin has a heart Disease and also wont be seeing her 30s (she is a close person to me)... I feel for you, you're not the only one here, isn't there really nothing to do? Most cancers can be healed today what i know. And. I was serious.

 

Last. Why your friend should make a post like mine? To open peoples eyes they are not invincible I myself have alot of faults i have had since i was born, nothing that would kill me but definately affect my everyday life. I have epilepsy, growth hormone deficiency and ADD that affects drastically my ableness to learn things in school. What I mean is, people should really start supporting people with health problems and not neglect them as "special cases" that get special treatment.

 

Also: offtopic from this: People should help others in DayZ SA who have health problems (broken bones, blood loss, pain, diseases) Like they would in real life. would make the experience alot more authentic and also makes you more happy, unless stingy with items.

 

PS. I might sound like I'm always joking around, truth is I'm always serious with these kind of subjects, i aint playing, and I would have left this unposted unless i would have not really ment what i said. I'm just trying to maintain positive attitude no matter what.

Back to topic. I'm about to make a some neat stuff in the SA. Everyone knows theres a swamp near Cherno in Chernarus+, So. What I'm gonna do is to scare shit out of people, Items I wear are Gas Mask, yellow Raincoat and a chainsaw... I will be lurking in random servers, hiding in the shallow shorewater of the swamps in prone, viewing thru 3rd person view to see nearby freshspawns closing by, I'm gonna make a friednly sounding voice over: "Hey you there i need your help!" Its stormy and rainy night so he wont be able to see me because i will be hiding in next to a brush if possible, and in the shallow water.  the possible victim starts calling me around.  I keep saying I'm right here friend, untill he comes to the nearby radius and says he still can't see me... Then I'm gonna make my move... stand up... Start my chainsaw scream as loud as I can (I have a deep voice) "I'm GONNA SKIN YOU WITH THIS AND WEAR YOUR FACE!!" Make few buzz sounds with chainsaw, punch air with it and chase the player for a while, then I will leave him alone, as hes shitting his pants. I'm gonna return to my postion switch server and do it again with different threats. Inspired by your friendly DayZ psycho partypomcer. Noted that DayZ need alot more of people like him. what could be more creepier than a DayZ psycho about to kill you, who looks like a swamp monster.

I think that I have solved their server issues...They are running the server on a Spectrum 48k...

 

No, but seriously...I was surprised that the engine only really uses one CPU core, and that the server CPU only uses a single core...

 

Q: What about hyperthreading? Would an i7 do better than an FX because of the differing threading support, or are we just talking raw clock speed here?
The app architecture is old, it's a 32 bit app. Like the vast majority of games, it's designed for previous gen processors. Games generally aren't designed to use six cores and etc... I'm no expert on hyperthreading but one thing that does help is raw clock speed on a single core. There is some multithreading stuff in the engine, i looked at it but I don't understand how it works. And I think that's all clientside anyway. I personally haven't looked into clientside CPU and my client runs fine for what I need. But on the server, it only uses one core. Which means raw clock speed is critical. It scales well enough with faster CPUs.

We'll see how it ends, either way it will always give you a teeny tiny advantage compared to 1st person, I personally prefer 1st person alot more over 3rd but the 3rd person just fits to my plan alot better.
