Never once has Nov 5th been mentioned. That date is 100% conjecture from the community.

I didn't mean he's had that date for weeks now I just meant maybe he wants a soft launch so undercover of a triple A title would be a good idea, but clearly the SA needs a lot more testing. It hasn't even be tested with over 100 players yet it seems.

Just as I predicted, there'd be a lot of disappointment as I posted here about the "release date"

 

Rocket's only closest thing as a release is "it's done when it's done" and he's a man of his word for. Let them finish their optimizations and stability tests. They're almost there. If we waited this long, I'm sure we could wait a little longer for them to finish up whatever they have left. It's going to be worth the wait as I can see.

He didn't even say what that basic/acceptance test included, how complex, how long and when it will be...seems to me like he's trying to win some time.

Sounds like tons of stability problems to me.

That's only because as Rocket said

 

"So please, please please - don't be hyped about a particular date, be hyped about our progress. Nobody knows the exact release date because there is not one. Once we have verified that we have achieved what we believe we have, and tidied up any integration issues, it will release."

Does it matter? If it's not the 5th, it could be the 6th, or the 7th, or the 8th. The speculation won't suddenly end just because rocket says the "proper" thing. It's easier to just say "We'll release it as soon as it's ready." That is the release date. When it's done.

He would be speculating and he isn't going to start denying every date the community come up with, eventually one of them is going to be correct even if he doesn't know it.

It could be the 5th, it could be the 6th or it could be tomorrow (not likely). I'm thinking any point from the 5tg to a week and a half after is a plausible time for a release.

This is just like in Kerbal Space Program, if you set your manouver notes and it does show you the speed you need, but not how long you will have to fire your rockets. We already know whats required for an Alpha Release, but we don't know how long it will take till all those required parts are tested and integrated well.

It doesn't take much to tell the fans if it's at least a matter of weeks or months.

I think most rational people don't even bother making arbitrary distinctions (when a game is releasing, sans release date) to condescendingly distinguish themselves from "irrational" people.

I'm 95% certain in November release, if anything latest update from Rocket only confirmed the time frame. There is no rational argument for it not getting a 2013 release that I'm aware of, if anyone has one please share.

Its good to know that they are nearly there. But it very much does make sense that the final testing is made and done right. Dean is really going out of his way to show that he can make a decent product and not rush something that doesn't have advertised features.
