kevsta545 451 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) So the dev team has been working on dayz for awhile now.. Shouldn't they have a basic idea of the engine now? I know the engine has parts of arma 2 and such but I'd like to get an idea of the minimum specifications soon, thanks for reading and have a nice day!P.S I'm talking about standalone Edited October 11, 2013 by Kevsta545
enforcer1975 1111 Posted October 11, 2013 What does that have to do with suggestions? Better ask in "will my PC run it?" ( too lazy to look for the link. )

disgruntled 38 Posted October 13, 2013 From what's been said in devblogs cpu load is going to be less than the mod.As it is still based on Arma 2 I think it will still be cpu and hdd heavy. It's going to need a good pc to get the full experience. What concerns me more is the server side. Although they've obviously made progress with server fps I reckon the server hardware has to be the best. Once the server files are released to the general public (if at all) you're going to see some terrible fps/desync.

bulletgaming012 12 Posted October 14, 2013 I have a slight concern with standalone. How is everyone going to be able to play? As far as I am aware all servers will be run by BIS. There will be a few 50 ish man servers but this isn't going to keep the million people that downloaded the mod happy. Or am I being a dufuss? As I recall rocket said no private servers will be available?

Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted October 14, 2013 These are some of the basic specs I've seen, but I've heard that they are only preliminary and a higher end rig may be required as the dev build isn't running large scale servers yet. CPU- i7 3930kGPU- at LEAST 2 780's, framerate may suffer without threeHDD- 3tb, the game will use up a good 2.5tb.SSD- I heard loading takes about an hour, with an SSD. They've yet to try it with a hard drive.RAM- 16GB's minimum, still causes visual tears and such without an extra stick of four.
