Is this normal play time for dayz?

So I have been play dayz a lot for the past few weeks.
I try to play other games as much as I can but when ever i have free time I go straght to dayz.

I want to play the hundreds of the other games i own but I never do because I play way to much dayz.

On a busy week I play 10/12 hours on a slow week i play 5/7.

So is this good or bad from a not hard core point of view?

Thanks if some hard core player comes in and says "I play 100 hours a day" then that does not help :p

100 hours a day? That's... that's a lot more than hardcore. That's seriously impressive.

Anyway: 10-12 hours a week is pretty casual; that's about 1 and 1/2 hours a day, after all. About long enough to accidentally jump from a  roof and get eaten by zombies during your 13 hour unconscious period.

When I was playing, I'd play for about 5 hours each Friday and Saturday...never thought I would play another game for a while there...

well those terms are purely subjective. Whats good for you may not be good for me and visa versa.

 

A couple of hours a day in front of your screen should be more than enough IMHO.

 

There is a whole world out there, explore that too.

I think it depends largely on what OP has achived in life up to now, how old he/she is.....maybe OP has other more important stuff he should be doing, like school?

I guess but I dont have that much to do most of the time,but i am talking about playing dayz over other games,not over other parts if my life.

but over all dayz is pretty one note and you cant beat it,so no one should play it 'That" much

Play when you want for as long as you want. Don't let other people suggest what a good or bad amount of time to play is. It's your time to spend.

 

If someone's bragging about how much time they spend playing, there's something wrong with them upstairs and you should ignore them.

Do what you want in your free time. But you should get some sort of exercise/fresh air every day, unless 'tis a lazy day.

Well, since I have a wife and a full time job, I only manage a few hours at a time, every few days or weeks.  Maybe if I'm lucky, I might play 5 or so hours on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

 

Once the SA comes out, I'll quit my job and divorce my wife so that won't be a problem anymore. :thumbsup:  :D

Hmm... My days go like this:

 

Work from 5am to 1pm -> get home at 2pm -> eat, shower, clean -> play from 3pm til' bed which is usually at 10-11.

 

That's of course not if my fiance wants to spend time with me, in which case I sign off early. She's usually too busy watching TV though.

I did one sesh that was 13 hours on Namalsk , started on Saturday at about 10 am and signed out at Sunday morning just after 1am. Did manage to get a roast in the oven in between and hang out my washing though :D 

 

 Average session would be 3-4 hours when i do play though which is getting less and less finally :) In the beginning i was easily pulling 2-6 hours stints every other night for a few months.

Because of work and other things I rarely get on during the week.

 

Now that im playing DayZ again I make up for lost time on the weekends putting in about 12+ hours between Friday-Sunday.

When I play a lot, I play a lot. We often have 6-10 hour sessions one or sometimes both nights on weekends.

 

Then I'll get bored and stop playing for a month until my next binge. xD

I dont get on nearly as much as I would like, maybe 3-5hrs a week because I have 2 kids, a 2 month old and a 4 year old that take the bulk of my time :( I even became unemployed a few weeks ago and no difference, honestly I dont know where I got the time to work lol Maybe when the baby gets a bit older and the mrs goes back to work(nightshifts ;) ) I'll be able to put as much hrs in as I did on bf3/bo2 on ps3/xb360.

I go to school full time, and I'm a full time pimp. I usually get about an 1hr to an hr and a half most week nights. I think your playing time is fine, as my dad works full time,with 2 kids, and a wife and still manages 4-6hrs on a weekday. -.-
