After continuous nuking and thunder dome attacks from hackers, I stopped playing out of frustration. Then I had to start travelling to Europe and Asia quite a bit for work, which didn’t give me any time to get back into it. Needing to understand iOS development a bit for work, I picked up a MacBook Pro and have since made it my main machine... no more Dayz. I now mostly play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and sometimes Diablo 3, but neither compares to Dayz. For a few weeks I played Warz, but was banned without a reason – no replies to my emails or forum posts to figure out what happened. Now I am waiting. Waiting for the Dayz Standalone version to come out. As soon as the release date is announced, I will order myself a brand new gaming PC and get it ready for Dayz action. After finishing high school I went to school for Visual Effects and Digital Animation. Although I loved working with Maya, Softimage, Flint, Fire... I quickly figured out that I am destined to work with numbers and on the product side. What I am trying to say is, not only do I love the gameplay, but also appreciate the texture work and technology that makes it all happen. I have been in online payments for the last 15 years. Maybe one day my path will lead me into the game development space. Many of my friends and colleagues would frown if they knew I played video games. Playing for me is a stress release, it allows me to stop thinking about work. Without a distraction I would work until my brain starts hemorrhaging. Anyhow. I’ll continue to follow the dev blog and am eagerly waiting for the release date (like many others).
