Morpheus` 0 Posted September 30, 2013 Hey there, I am playing Day Z origins! I played before without any laggs but then i stopped playing. So I started again to play and now I lagg like hell and do not understand why? Processor: AMD Turion II Dual-core Mobile M520Graphic cards: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 SeriesRAM: 4 GbOS: Windows 7 x64 I have Shadowdetail, antialiasing and postprocess effects disabled. Video memory is set on default!
Gwraspe 318 Posted September 30, 2013 try setting antialiasing to default setting and ensure vsync is off if its graphic-related/fps lag, kill your peers if its ping related :)
Morpheus` 0 Posted September 30, 2013 Is my hardware good enough for the game?
monoking 22 Posted September 30, 2013 Sorry, It's not good enough for DayZ. The game needs atleast a midrange rig to run it comfortably.
Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted September 30, 2013 You need better hardware.
Morpheus` 0 Posted September 30, 2013 But I was playing some months ago without any laggs and now it is lagging like hell?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted September 30, 2013 But I was playing some months ago without any laggs and now it is lagging like hell? Laptops tend to degrade over time... Have you defragged your hard-drive lately? That would probably help a bit. Also, if you can clear out the air vents that might help too.
fluxley 2228 Posted September 30, 2013 But I was playing some months ago without any laggs and now it is lagging like hell? It can depend greatly on the server that you play on, a decent spec server with good ping and low population will be a lot smoother than a busy server on crappy hardware and lots of poorly implemented scripts, this makes it really hard to compare the results you are getting now to how it used to play for you. There could be other factors too, maybe your system is just running slower than it used to, this happens with windows unless you really keep on top of unnecessary programs running in the background. i tend to just go for a fresh windows install every few months, makes a big difference. But yeah your system is very underpowered for dayz, so the slightest change could easily push it over the edge.

This could be a reason! I will make a recovery and download everything again.
yazar8 584 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) I also have lag, is my computer good enough to run it smoothly? http://prntscr.com/1uf67x GTX 560 with 1GB 500GB HDD half full. Edited September 30, 2013 by Yazar8
meat pie 632 Posted September 30, 2013 ya laptops dont really get worse over time if you keep them in cheack and clean the vents, send them to get a check up now and then but if you have not done that try more, also find out what you run arma 2 like if you are getting 30+ fps then it is the server if not then its your computer and you should send it into a shop to get checked up. taco241 393 Posted September 30, 2013 Clean your laptop fan vents and check the thermal paste on your computer if it's a year or older.Heat tends to create instability and a lot of issues in laptops.

We need to notify Fraggle if there is an overheating.
AmberHelios 2071 Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) We need to notify Fraggle if there is an overheating. Overheating? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It sounds to me like overheating is definately something you need to consider. It's an issue many people overlook. I would advise taking the side off of your rig and using some compressed air to blow away the cobwebs. You'll be amazed how many issues this can solve. Overheating, the bane of the video games industry. Have you tried turning it off... ... ... ... and then back on again Edited September 30, 2013 by AmberHelios
