Just about done editing my Fraps from a tent city we raided yesterday. I wasn't with the main party, but I went in afterwards solo to "clean up", spec ops style. It was going quite well until, some how, the server got mysteriously shut down. We still walked away with a very very nice chunk.

We have runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at UTC 20:00-24:00 at the Balota airfield on Seattle 64. You'll most likely be contacted again for those times.

I haven't even been on DayZ today, so I can't say. I've been editing and trying to re-learn which convert options to use to get a HD video output from Fraps footage from last night.

This sounds really interesting...Pretty much exactly what I wanted to start up when my little group got some vehicles and tents. I'd like to at least help out in some capacity, but I do have a group I still play with on the side.

How are things going? Are you guys set up? Are you getting any traders?

Just wanting to know if it's worth committing some time to or if it's failing =)

Everybody needs to understand that while Freeside can't control what its members do on their own time, Freeside will never organize full-scale raids on other peoples hard-earned stuff.

As of right now, we aren't punishing members for doing so, but rest assured that nobody will be subjected to any vengeance for defending their tents from attacks by Freeside members.

However, it should also be noted that engaging Freeside members on official raids on loot-spawning areas could result in a permanent spot on the Freeside shit-list.

How will you tell the difference between official teams and unofficial teams?

Simply follow the Upcoming Events section, thought be aware that said section may or may not be moved to the official Freeside online forums at a later date.

As previously announced, Freeside is currently in the process of moving to a better forum system.

Once the transition is completed, there will be another announcement in this thread, after which any business relating to recruitment is gonna be moved to the official Freeside forum set up for that purpose.

As of today, I'm gonna be taking charge of getting people into the roster, which also means that the information that you've previously had to fill out yourself, will be taken care of by me instead.

This is to alleviate some pressure from the leadership, and because some have been having trouble filling out their info.

Yeah, we should probably have made that more clear.

Our current conception is of mercs as essentially aggressive expeditionary forces--retrieving bodies, protecting gathering groups in excessively hostile areas, punitive measures against clear enemies. Where gatherers go out ready for trouble, mercs go out looking for it.

We also hope to be able to serve as a platform for mercenaries to hire themselves out as freelance guns for hire, but right now we're focusing on servicing our own needs.

Once the new forum is up and running, I'm gonna pull a Homer on the recruitment section.

I'll make a detailed thread on the specifics of each kind of work.

With people asking questions about exactly what's what, we may as well alleviate some of them :)

Once this happens, it's very important that everyone who is already on the roster go and make themselves an account on the new forum, and contact an Administrator to get the proper permissions.

If your roster information is incomplete, I will PM you on the new forum asking for whatever is missing. If you're not on the new forum, I can't PM you, and so you risk not getting contacted for future runs.
